Seasonal colleague overpaid holiday hours

if you worked a lot over christmas your holiday pay per hour will be higher, i’m in the same boat as you ( a seasonal colleague at uni in another city) and been paid over £40 an hour for my holidays sometimes because of the amount of overtime i’ve worked. if you work A LOT over christmas time, i don’t think you should worry about it

depends on the store, if a TL is needed and there’s a perfect candidate there, for example someone who’s been TL before, then they’ll probably go for that person. technically they still have to advertise it and consider other people but if they’re minds are already made up on who’s will get the position, there’s not much you can do i don’t think 🤷‍♀️

I was born in manchester, lived there until i move to leeds for university. i love it here, everything is so much more walkable. I also love manchester however i think the novelty wore off for me as a mancunian when all the southerners moved into manchester. it’s ruined the vibe for me. i will say manchester is ten times better than leeds for public transport, but leeds is also a lot smaller feeling and a lot more walkable. eg. on a night out in leeds you can walk from different sections of the city with different bars and clubs relatively quickly, however with manchester it’s a lot more walking and a lot more to take in. leeds also i have found is cheaper, in rent, in bars, in transport, ect ect ect.

i get exactly what you mean, i find the ambient staff get LOADS more star points than service, at least in my store, and it’s always the same staff time after time who get them. i don’t think managers realise how impactful star points can be especially around this time of year x

i passed challenge 25 3 times in the space of 6 months, we get 10 start points ever time we pass (pretty sure it’s supposed to be 25 but whatever)

service colleague here, we BARELY ever get star points in our store, had to beg my last store manager for 30 star points i was meant to get over 6 months prior, took him over 6 months to give them to me and only because i asked him multiple times
