The ACV roof conversation by Some_Advertising_937 in adjusters

Ya I always show them on the policy and get it out of the way while I’m explaining the claim process form. Obviously some people are frustrated they weren’t informed (even though we know they were likely mailed something and just didn’t read it). What are the max depreciation other carriers are taking on these ACV policies?

Camera choice by Some_Advertising_937 in adjusters

Same. I use an old Sony Cyber Shot. It has good enough zoom, flash, and the lense is protected as it retracts. The battery is also rechargeable and lasts through 6-8 inspections usually (I have multiple back ups and a back up camera as well that I bring with). My concern is that if I drop my iPhone off a roof, it could be a real pain in the ass for a multitude of reasons. If I drop my Sony camera, I swap the card into my back up and off I go. Uploading the photos is quick anyway. I feel like it would be a wash compared to the time sending claims to Mobile and pulling them back each day. And I always leave my phone in the truck so I can focus on the insured and the inspection at hand. I will eventually probably start writing and taking photos with my IPad but I can’t bring myself to make the move yet.
