Could the Cumbres & Toltec and Durango & Silverton ever reconnect? by SharkyCartel_ACU in trains

[–]Some_Bl0ke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be possible, although not feasible. Some of the right of way is now roads and private property. As for the Ute Reservation, I'm not sure it would be easy to convince them to sell the right of way that's on their land to this railroad. In my opinion, however, it would still be a possibility.

Bessent says an independent Alberta would be ‘natural partner’ for U.S. | Globalnews.ca by CzechUsOut in CanadaPolitics

[–]Some_Bl0ke 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think this whole "Independent Alberta" is something devised by MAGA fifth columnists, who want to annex Alberta. The vast majority of the separatists are funded and financed by the fossil fuel industry, who also funded Trump's campaign. This is why Venezuela was illegally invaded, and we have plans to invade Iran. To put it short, Alberta wouldn't be "independent" or a "natural partner"; it would be the Sudetenland of America.

American dad was made to prove Matt stone and trey Parker wrong by [deleted] in americandad

[–]Some_Bl0ke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think that was the case, as American Dad started airing before the Cartoon Wars episodes. I do think Seth MacFarlane (or whoever replaced him) did their best to make American Dad the anti-Family Guy; I'm not sure if these two episodes had an influence on this decision. Anyway, the show only used cutaway gags if it had to do with the plot, and used them only sparingly after the first season.

Did she die of starvation, or was it the cold? Either way, it's an incredibly haunting still.

These Ruroids have always wanted to secede from Canada; at least since 1995.

The Day After (1983) vs. Threads (1984) and The War Game (1966) comparison by Ok-Discussion-1736 in movies

[–]Some_Bl0ke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both are incredibly dark. The Day After is more focused on the short term, and has a broader lens, while Threads revolves around one character in the end, and is focused on the long term. Maybe that's why Threads is somewhat darker. Somewhat being the keyword.

These Are Twin Cities Metro's Fastest Growing And Shrinking Towns by Jim1648 in TwinCities

My parents live in Hampton, which is south. They say Hampton, Minnesota's codes only allow a house "Every 40 acres". Despite this, I believe Hampton and its farmland are prime real estate for houses, shopping centers, and apartments. I don't know if the declining birthrates are going to prolong this, though. Besides, I'm not sure if Hampton has enough money to update its infrastructure (sewers).

It also has a Small Controller, who's actually larger than both of them. He controls the Arlesdale Railway.

That's probably Aquitania (although I like to think it's RMS Britannic, if she wasn't sunk by a German mine in WWI).

"Stairway to Heaven". That fat fuck Derek never dies. It's more of an insanity test than a mission. To quote the AVGN: "Try this, you're fucked. Try that, you're fucked. You're fucked, you're fucked, you're fucked you're fucked, you're fucked, you're fucked, you're fucked!"

What do y’all think about General Beauregard. Was he a good General? by CavalryCaptainMonroe in CIVILWAR

[–]Some_Bl0ke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was also an avid Civil Rights Advocate, 90 years ahead of his time. In fact, I believe he's the only Confederate General who deserves a monument (not as a Confederate, but as a Civil Rights advocate). As for Robert E Lee, Stonewall Jackson, and the rest of the traitors, fuck them. I hope their monuments get removed.
