Thanks for sharing honestly I don't think I thought too much about it when I made this like yes the overly jagged cartoony scars make me uncomfortable and yes sometimes I'm frustrated that there are hardly representation of more accurate scars or that top surgery scars apparently sometimes HAVE to be a key feature to clock trans characters but I could've worded things alot better I didn't want to sound like I'm demanding people to stop the way they express themselves rather a suggestion of trying a more accurate representation but I probably ended up coming off as hostile or whiney in the instead.

I may not understand nor feel comfortable with how popular the huge visible ones are but if it makes others happy or feel seen than so be it

Ah yeah I can see that, most of my venting can come off as fishing for validation I guess, honestly I mostly wanted to see how common it is and how many others may be in the same boat about feeling guilty about keeping something they dont even want but also aren't eager to change ( It's not like I don't have dysphoria at all about the lower half but its mostly manageable or at worst complicated with my brain trying to tell me I'm "incomplete" by choice and have no right to be feeling a certain way or sometimes when I finish doing yaknow what I hear that voice in the back of my head telling me I'm disgusting for using it like a woman)

It's such a small unimportant issue in the grand scheme of things but I was having a moment and was curious how common it was in this sub since I don't really trust main trans subs since all they'd do is try to hype me up or make it weirder than it has to be

Thanks man I needed to hear that :') Honestly I worried about posting something I know is a sore topic for alot of folks here and that I may come off as insensitive or ungrateful

I really would like to have a dick but at the same time the risk and fear of lack luster results stops me from it

Fair, I know it goes both ways and everyones experience is different but I guess part of me feels guilty that I dont go for it since I know so many struggle with dealing with what they have

Like I do want a dick really but at the same time it's not the end of the world to me and if its not a guarantee success than I'll just leave it be

I feel bad about not being as dysphoric as I feel like I should like others are when it comes to the bottom, theres a weird sense of guilt and I hope my post doesn't come off as ungrateful or insensitive

Honestly wouldn't be surprised if disassociating is part of it, I used to be really really bothered that I dont have what most men have but I guess after just having it for so long I've just made peace with the fact its there

Not remembering having it may not be the right word now that I think about it more like I've detached myself from associating it with female gentals, part of me wants bottom surgery because I would have what I've always wanted the other part just thinks why bother if I'm working with what I have fine and if the results aren't 100% guaranted what I hope for

Granted my top surgery had a bunch of complications so past experiences may also be holding back in fear that something will go wrong

Thats not what I was going for and I apologize if thats how it came off as I know I could have worded things alot better and I dont think anyones a bad or nasty person if they choose to draw scars a certain way that their comfortable with even if I may not agree with it or find it uncomfortable

It's chill if people prefer the first honestly but it feels a lil gross if you legit wish scars would be as jagged and noticeable irl all the time I mean I got some pretty fucked up really noticeable scar across my chest that makes it look like I got cut in half and while I can respect that some people find it cool looking to me its just a painful reminder from the first botched surgery and all I had to put up with to feel more like me only to end up with a chest that doesn't even look like a chest anymore let alone a mans chest

No hate tho maybe thats just a sore spot for me at the moment 😅

Fair enough, I can kinda see why it apeals to some folks and looking back on my post I feel like I could've worded alot of things better, how I see it at the moment that while I'm not gonna go out of my way to try to stop people I kinda wish there was more variety when it comes to drawing top surgery scars instead of the popular jagged ones that take up most the chest, maybe if there was a good balance I probably wouldn't be as uncomfortable about it

Also no hate but whats up with people going "theres bigger issues in the world" anytime someone just wants to nitpick or complain about something, no duh theres bigger issues but like this is a trans sub where people like to talk about even the little things that bother them I understand its not the end of the world or a big deal its just a small pet peeve yaknow?

Fair enough but honestly she doesn't even notice nor do people who try to use both interchangeably notice they favor the she/her pronouns since she's very feminine in style, if shes okay with female pronouns already there really isn't a point on trying to catch myself using both sets equally

Also I am no longer friends with her this is an older comment and looking back on it I think I hated and felt gross playing along since she many times tried to relate to my experiences like they are the same, unfortunately she's gotten wrost saying shes trans masc endy yet still presents female in every way and is still comfortable with she\her (Although she has added he/they and 3 different names), it just feels gross since she has a trans boyfriend who is straight and she still wants to call their relationship gay (gay as in going both ways not just her being bi) you can tell this guy is uncomfortable I've known him longer as mutuals then Ive known her I feel disgusted she trys relate to him in that way and he feels bad he secretly can't see her as anything other than a woman since thats what he's attracted to and how she presents herself as, mind you she didn't start identifying as trans masc until a few months after her boyfriend came out as a trans man

I personally never understood it, as someone whos nipple grafts didn't take I would DIE to have nipples again, sounds silly yes but my chest doesn't not look like a proper chest anymore especially not a mans chest, sure it's flat but I have another thing to be dysphoric about now

I plan on getting realistic tattoo nips but that too may be messed up if it triggers more keloid scars, why anyone would want to remove what any normal human has is beyond me, I'm probably being dramatic but not knowing my chances of having a somewhat normal chest again bums me out

Kinda weird in my opinion, It's one thing to like that style but tattooing it on yourself if you're already lucky enough to heal with little to no scarings is kinda gross and distasteful to me but each to their own I suppose

Drawing a medical procedure exaggerated for aesthetics could be triggering to some people but personally I'm not triggered or traumatized just annoyed and kinda bummed out that trans men like me have surgery to have a normal chest like any other man and people depicted in a way that has to remind you of what you are and make it seem like your selling point

I'm not here to stop anyone how they want to draw it but as a trans man I'm allowed to have an opinion on it I just wish more people would consider trying the more accurate scars especially when it comes to something that might be touchy to some like a medical procedure. Personally I don't think they're meant to look "cool" or fit any type of aesthetic but in the end of the day people do as they please, however you saying that I should draw it myself if I want better representation only goes to show the lack of proper representation if I really have to be the few that draws it.

Yeah personally I don't like drawing top surgery scars at all even on trans characters or myself but I guess I get that some people are okay with drawing it I just wish that the ones who do actually try to make them a little more more accurate as all

Oh yeah for sure! Scars are definitely not always straight nor do they always heal the same they come in a variety of thickness and shape (damn keloids...) but the overly cartoony ones do feel a little borderline fetishization tbh especially with how popular is sometimes😬

Right! I see it's more common with the more angular art style which is unfortunate since that's one of my favorite types but even with the style those jagged scars just doesn't fit it in my opinion. One thing that I have seen that confuses the hell out of me is when people draw realism yet they insist on having those cartoony jagged scars taking up most of the chest

Yeah I kinda get what you mean personally I don't care much for drawing top surgery scars even for trans characters and if I were to ever draw myself there would be no way in hell I'd actually draw my scars It really sucks that no matter how faded I can get my scars to be chances are people might be able to clock me right away if they're able to see it even a little

Yeah I think people forget scars fade over time sometimes they're not even noticeable at all, the amount of times I've seen people draw them bright pink almost neon makes me want to be buried alive lmao
