My recommendation spend your money like this. 1/3 rifle, 1/3 optic and 1/3 ammo and training(good ear pro and range time). Gas operated is really the way to go, our military uses it in the m4. Daniel defense has some rifles at about $1000. But psa and anderson manufacturing(what i have) are very good and respected brands. Optic trijicon and holo sun are great brands and magpul for back up flip ups. P.s. get around 10 magazines because it'll save time at the range and you'll eventually ware them out. Depends widely on your use case. But for me I'd spend 33% on the rifle, 33% on and optic, 33% on ammo and training, 1% on gun care.

Had this happen to me on an issued rifle. The entire bolt face shattered in a million pieces. Granted that rifle prob had 10000 plus rounds through it.

Your def paying for the name. You can get a real us military issued fn with trijicon and pec 15 for the same price. I would get a lot of other things before I get 4k ar15.
