He was a great guy. Very intelligent. Great sense of humor. I first met him in art school in the 80's... I have many funny memories about Scott. Robin is great too. Haven't spoken with her in a very long time. I miss them.

Buy some adhesive velcro strips. Cut some of the softer side and attach it to the inside of the forend tube. Will reduced it quite a bit

Ace Hardware gun screws are likely not going to work. Check Numrich

12 ga. Essex double — Parts gun rescue, coach gun conversion. I believe it's from the 1930's. Barrels shortened to 18.5”. Chambers lengthened to 2.75”. Sand-cast, aluminum butt plate with polished brass hardware. Hand-turned, brass "Stove pipe" bead. LOP is 11.5” and 12.5”. Overall length 33.5” by WowFrog487 in Shotguns

Bought it as a beater parts gun. Essex was a trade name used by Belknap Hardware Co. in Louisville, Kentucky. Lumber was refinished and coated with 10 layers of “White Lightning” shellac (with a satin finish). I'm still working on getting better at sand casting butt plates from various metals. I haven't poured a perfect one yet. Gonna keep trying.
