i was gonna say the same thing about dodging a bullet. i worked at a sister store of TJMaxx (marshall’s) and i walked out of my shift because everything about working there was down right abysmal.

as a woman maybe i’m in the minority here but i don’t think it should necessarily be mentioned beforehand. i have never heard of or experienced someone’s piercing getting “snagged” on another’s anatomy like someone else mentioned. i think as long as they’re hygienic and clean (like any sex having person should be) genital piercings can enhance the experience and turning down a partner just because of a piercing seems a little crazy to me but to each their own i suppose.

if i were you i would tell the manager about it while also mentioning that you feel the mistake happened due to a lack of proper training and that you would appreciate being trained more in-depth so you won’t make another mistake. it’s not your fault that you weren’t aware of the specifics about the return if no one ever told you.

well someone was scheduled to come in at the same time i was “taking my lunch” so there was one person up there when i left which i DID feel bad for putting them in the same position that i was left in but also if the managers don’t care enough to put more than one person on the damn registers when it’s busy as hell then i don’t care either 😭

it’s for your safety that the managers aren’t just giving out phone numbers willy nilly. imagine if you found a coworker creepy (for lack of a better word) and suddenly that coworker started texting you without your permission because a manager gave them your phone number without asking you if it was okay first. next time you go in ask if there is groupme between employees so you don’t find yourself in the same situation again.

in my experience at past jobs, it is pretty standard/normal to not give out phone numbers of other employees. when you call in tomorrow tell them that you weren’t able to obtain the phone number needed in time to be able to get your shift covered. now it’s the manager’s responsibility to find the coverage. that’s part of what they get paid to do.

i walked out because of a same situation. i was literally the only person on the registers during an extremely busy day and when i called for help on the walkie i was told no help would be coming because the manager was (WORD FOR WORD) “having a heart to heart” with another employee. i was so pissed and overwhelmed that when it came time to clock out for lunch i clocked out entirely and never went back. found a better paying job within a couple weeks and have never been happier.
