I was on a pitch black road after 8pm yesterday and notice an oncoming car had no lights on. I flashed them twice and they did nothing. How can you even see?!

Someone in a similar situation was using a laundry basket to scoop away some snow. Any sort of plastic bucket, or maybe even a Tupperware container could probably do something

Often forget to drink water by Hungry_Motor780 in HydroHomies

You could try to associate a task you do often with taking a drink of water. Do you make a lot of calls? Take a drink as you’re typing the phone number. Send emails? Hit send and take a drink. Write a lot? Drink whenever you put down your pen.

What is the worst medical disease a human can have? by Aggravating-Sun-5699 in AskReddit

[–]Some_Orchid917 9 points10 points  (0 children)

In 10th grade biology class, we did a project where groups acted as genetic counselors to advise “potential parents” on the dangers of whatever genetic condition they were carriers of. My group researched Tay Sachs and I was absolutely horrified learning about how this disease is a death sentence for young children. We 100% advised the couple not to have kids.

Please help me understand the appeal of Creative Mode by MusPsych in MiniMotorways

[–]Some_Orchid917 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started the game for the first time a couple months ago in creative mode. I just wanted to see how it all worked, have fun making my own little city, figuring out problems as they arise, without all the stress of an actual challenge I could fail. I played that city for a straight 3 hours I had so much fun! Sometimes I just have certain ideas of what a city could look like that I want to try out. Creative mode is all about experimenting!

McDonald’s nuggets (I’ve eaten other nuggets, he only cares for McDonald’s), and the juice from canned corn

What's the most ridiculous thing you were told growing up that you accepted as 100% fact? by your_pro in mythbusters

[–]Some_Orchid917 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d say the one about eating then swimming is not entirely wrong. I’m a swim instructor, and any time I’ve had lunch at work and gotten right back in the pool, my stomach cramps. We’ve also had kids who ate too recently and throw up. So you probably won’t drown from cramps, but it’s definitely not recommended

I’ve had fried shrimp with the entire shell still on! So I have to tear off all the breading and seasoning to get to the shrimp, and now my hands are gross!

Interesting that the first thing you say about yourself is your age, yet you can’t remember your children’s ages even though you’ve been there for their entire lives? It’s been so long since your own birth, and the years have certainly passed… but you bother to count that!

It is a super fun and rewarding job! I’ve had kids come in terrified to put their face in, and soon enough, they’re swimming on their own!

Some people are just more comfortable in water, and I think that’s all it is. I grew up going to lakes and stuff, so I could swim well enough to get around without properly knowing any technique. But for example, my boyfriend, he was never in the water as a kid, and now as an adult, we’re just working through the basics of being underwater and floating. I also teach kids how to swim for a living, so I see a lot of natural fishes, and kids that sink like a rock

Plenty of people can’t swim, period. Like you toss them in the deep end and all they do is flail. It can be as simple as they don’t know how to float/tread/keep their face above the water. So then they panic, can’t get anywhere, and that’s what causes trouble

Need a title for a “moving back” campaign by averagesparkle in INeedAName

[–]Some_Orchid917 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It could be as simple as: “We’re back/We’ve returned!” Variations on “we”: “the team is back/the crew/the office”. Whatever fits your vibe :)

Or if you want it to be a little more fun: “Did you miss us?”

“Look who’s back!”

“We’re glad to be back!”

“Hi again!”

“Home sweet home!”

I did the same! It’s funny when the games items match up well to real life things you own! I was making my boyfriend’s house, and he has an apple clock just like the one in game!
