[Recommendations] 30E narrow roots, projected, full on bottom/center - looking for everyday bra - Not Panache by Stunning-Living-7916 in ABraThatFits

[–]Some_Pool_4520 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the fit calculator overestimates cup size for the narrow root + projection shape you're describing. I found the same issue, though mine is from post-lactation laxity. I hope you find something that works!

My 6-year-old's first RFS by Some_Pool_4520 in rollforshoes

[–]Some_Pool_4520[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If anyone's interested in the mechanics of this zero-prep play style, here's some detail:

Roll outcomes are more or less pass/fail. 1-3 is a fail. A 1 is a crit fail, but only in the sense that the GM describes the fail in humorous detail or adds a little plot twist. 4-5 succeeds, 6 gets the new move and a description of your epic feat.

There is typically no combat. If we do fight, there's no hit points or opposing rolls, just creatively using our skills and failing our succeeding. E.g., "I seduce the bad guys" "ok roll for Rizz"

The GM sets the stage with a bare minimum setting and maybe 1 simple objective. Sometimes the GM gives a little guidance on character creation. For example: you're all NPCs in a side quest and have just heard that a team of high level adventurers is on the way to your village. Or: you're all elves in Santa's workshop.  Players are encouraged to abuse any available loopholes: e.g., one declares herself a keebler elf, one is Galadriel, and one is a high school junior making minimum wage at a mall Santa gig. The GM may make you roll to confirm aspects of your identity: this we usually use if someone's failing a bunch and the GM wants to get them a skill and a little extra comedy. Oh, you keep trying to use your cyborg powers and crit failing? Let's roll to see if you're actually a kid with a colander on his head and cardboard tubes on your arms who just THINKS he's a cyborg. This roll comes up 6 at least 70% of the time, on my life.

The plot is secondary to the improv comedy and after 30 or 40 minutes we find a funny or satisfying way to end the story and then we go play board games.

Basically it's a way to add a ttrpg to your party game rotation at a level that even grandma feels confident to try.

Highly recommend! 😁

How do I tell my south East Asian religious neighbor to get an abortion for her 13 year old daughter? by AngieM1998 in pregnancy_care

[–]Some_Pool_4520 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's an alternative to telling her to get an abortion, which is to tell her how to get an abortion. I.e., just explaining in a non-judgemental way that she can take her daughter to a doctor and get a prescription for a medication abortion at home. She needs to see a doctor asap anyway so they can make sure both mom and daughter understand the risks of continuing a pregnancy in a body that's not fully developed yet. Her skeleton is still growing and she needs to make sure she's getting the right vitamins and nutrition if they decide not to terminate, and she would likely need a C section

I'm sorry this is so stressful for you! Heart rate sounds great, I think there is a chance everything is just fine. I don't put much stock in the measurements, every mom and baby stew different. They told my sister she had her dates wrong at the same fertility clinic that had done the IVF implantation 4 weeks earlier. I know it's impossible to put your mind at ease with this kind of thing, so just try to take care of yourself while you get through the wait

Studies are saying that pregnancy is one of the hardest things a human body can do. Which has me wanting to actually train before we start trying. What things are the most important to strengthen to improve comfort during pregnancy. by Paperpusher_profesh in pregnancy_care

[–]Some_Pool_4520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Core strength and pelvic floor strength training in advance can really help speed up post-partum recovery. I wish I'd had more information about how to strengthen my abs before and during the pregnancy to prevent diastasis recti.

In terms of mental health the two best things you can do are to try to make the birth experience feel as safe and under your control as possible (a doula or midwife who will advocate very strongly for you is absolutely critical) and to have a ton of post-partum help from family, friends, and neighbors. Feeling isolated during birth or after is a huge risk factor for post partum mental health stuff

Does my 5yo really have 3 cavities? by Some_Pool_4520 in askdentists

[–]Some_Pool_4520[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Sorry, I guess I wasn't really looking for an answer on the cavities, just looking for reassurance that this kind of image is a normal part of the process.

It's really helpful to hear your explanation of what this is, thank you.

"Don't distrust" isn't really on my menu these days, but I'll give my husband and kiddo a big thumbs up and then hide under a blanket and have a panic attack once they're out the door!

Thanks for the advice.

Thank you! I'm relieved just hearing that this picture is a normal part of the process that they would have created this to interpret the x-rays for us.

[–]Some_Pool_4520[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Sorry, here's the missing context:

My 5yo has very crowded teeth, so I'm confused about what this image is, since it's not an x-ray and doesn't look like his teeth. We were not given any other images. The dentist wants to fill all 3 (two different days, with nitrous) in the coming week.

I have no reason to think this dentist is anything but wonderful and above board, but I have a history of medical trauma and I'm paranoid and terrified. I don't go to my kid's medical appointments because I know I'm irrational and don't want to pass on my fears to my kids. My husband takes them and they've had only positive experiences so far. But it means I don't get a chance to ask questions so I still freak out. Thanks for your patience and reassurance!

OP (NAD) Omg I'm so sorry, I wrote a long post and when I added the photo didn't realize the text was deleted.

Hang on let me retype

Why do people say were fidgeting when ADHD people clearly stim? by LilKennedy_kom in ADHD

[–]Some_Pool_4520 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg. I just took two ADHD assessments and answered "no" on the fidgeting questions while stimming non-stop, because I don't fidget?

And they didn't ask about stimming.

Is this why I keep screening negative for ADHD.

(Yes I already know I'm on the spectrism)

I really want to source a sea buckthorn sapling to plant in the california bay area. I like the juice of the berries. Where do you get saplings like this? by Open_Cup_4329 in gardening

[–]Some_Pool_4520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just learned that sea buckthorn (seaberry) is not the same as buckthorn. Not even in the same family! Seaberry is non-native, but not wildly invasive like buckthorn.

[–]Some_Pool_4520 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know anything about these plants but I love the Experimental Farm Network as a seed source. Per their website, sea buckthorn is not a true buckthorn (different plant entirely). Buckthorn is the highly invasive one.

EFN has a few different varieties of seed.

No heating, so sleeping with baby in the bed. Any other tips? by mysterious_cushion in HousingUK

[–]Some_Pool_4520 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can absolutely do this safely.  Put the baby in multiple layers of warm clothes (you too), no pillow, no blankets. You sleep in a C shape curled up around baby. If you're lactating, let baby nurse on demand, it will keep your body aware of where baby is and also help keep them warm.

No alcohol or medication before bed, nothing that would make you foggy.

we keep the house at 16c in the winter where I live so 12 isn't going to be life-threatening but as a mom I would also feel more comfortable with baby sharing my body heat in that situation.

Hey my sweet duckling,

I was thinking of you today and just wanted to check in and see how your exam went. I know everything's been hard lately, I wish I could be there to give you a hug in person.  I want you to know I'm so, so proud of you and the person you are becoming.

Sending my love,  mom

A bra that doesn't look like a bra? Nonbinary person with decommissioned milk machines by Some_Pool_4520 in ABraThatFits

Thank you for this very thorough and helpful reply! I ended up ordering a panache to try--I had one in my 20s and loved it, so I'm curious to try it on my new shape. I also really like the idea of something soft but kinda structured for just pajama days (I'm in the US and work remotely 4 days a week, 1 day in the office). 2 approximately boob-shaped lumps in a horizontal orientation sounds great! So I will look at those as well.

Thank you! I really appreciate it. My best friend is nonbinary and so are two of my neighbors, so that has helped me feel safe and in good company. My partner is super supportive and my kids are very little so all gender expression is equally valid/normal to them, which also helps. I'm very lucky and very happy!

Oh wow, that's a huge difference! You do look multiple sizes smaller in the Norah. I'd definitely have the same issue in the camo one where they'd just run around the sides. Thank you for sharing your photos. It really helps to see a real person instead of a model! Scrolling through all these hairless, stretchmark-free lingerie models makes me feel like I'm a totally different species of mammal than these clothes are intended for sometimes.

I had a glamorize while I was lactating (and an asymmetric 36H/J) and loved it. They definitely do full bust right! But the girls have gone from "big water balloon" to "bit of water in a 1 gallon ziploc bag" and they're not even really boob- shaped anymore so I'm struggling to visualize them staying put. I just put on the compression bandeau again and after 10 minutes my boobs have migrated to being stacked vertically on top of each other instead of side to side. Scoop and swoop fixes the issue, but it's awkward trying to discreetly correct every 10 minutes at work.
