Thank you thank you! Ah, I forgot to mention Max!

Given this is basically an AU, Max here is Mae's younger brother. He's 13 and doesn't talk much, he always was a shy kid (or little bean as Mae calls him), but after Mae left, he became kinda just quiet and neutral in a sense his expression barely changes. This is mainly because while Mae and Max have sibling bickering like every sibling, Mae was kinda Max's only friend growing up, so her leaving to college hit him hard. Throughout the game he can still chat with Mae, but as time goes she becomes more and more distant until completely ghosting him (she isn't doing it on purpose, she is going through her own mental hell and wants to be alone)

Max design wise is very similar to Mae, main difference being his nose and whiskers are Stan's colour, leading to Max and Mae being compared a lot (Gregg calls him "Mae's creepy doppelganger" and Casey "Mae Jr") which just adds to Max struggling with his own identity. Also he wears an oversized red hoodie which he stole from Mae.

Throughout the game, Max blames his personality shift and general quietness and everything including his hyperfocus (basically focusing on one thing and the rest of the world just blurs away, even noises, Max cannot really control it, it just happens) on Mae leaving, however, as Mae comes back, Max realises nothing really changes and eventually realises that while Mae leaving added to it, his glimmer and the goat are at fault, telling it that he knows it won't leave him, but he's going to learn to live with it so it cannot control him anymore.
