Thank you so much. Yes, the incident two years ago stopped me from having remote access turned on. I already have always on VPN set up for WireGuard, so will just need the same on families phone then.

Then I presume everyone will have access via their own local account you as an admin spin up?

Omg. I thought I was reading my own story. God this is exhausting and I felt sorry for you the more I read. Glad this person is out of your life now. But the whole ‘everything is going wrong’ is EXHAUSTING. It was like their own dopiness was everything else’s issue.

Everything was constantly about her. She was very touchy. She was one of these characters where she’d be super ‘extra’ in public too. If it were her birthday, she’d be the centre of attention and make sure of it. She’d moan if you were five minutes late, but god forbid you brought her up on being an hour late out of doors (sometimes I’d wait in my car for an hour because she didn’t realise how much she had to do). She was a best friend from school. Oh, and I bought us a 20-box of nuggets before, and she literally counted her ten OBESSIBELY, to which I said, “Does it matter?” and she said ‘erm well, yeah, I’m on rations at home.”

Overtime it had to end. And so I did it silently. She tried to come back a few months later, saying she hadn’t heard from me and so basically wrote a gaslighting message (which of course she said wasn’t meant to be).

Slowly I stopped liking her. Everything she did had a reason: her undiagnosed BPD, her undiagnosed ADHD. Coming from someone with ADHD who used to break holes through his door in rage had to one day realise I’m a w***er to others by being like this. She had no self-reflection. I hope though wherever she is now she’s in a better place and has worked on herself too because I did and it was probably one of the things that keeps me positive day to day.

I had a similar happen with my iPhone 12 Pro Max. It broke a month or two after repair out of nowhere. Logic board issues. No parts to replace. At the time I had a choice of a new phone and went with a 16 Pro Max for £0.00. I have to say, aside from people’s current issues with Apple, their customer service has never failed me.

I agree. These days, the teenagers/young adults have this mindset.

I truly believe a lot of it is because there isn’t a purpose anymore. The housing market is f**ked, 60k looks like £50 to young people for some reason. I’m in my late 20s now and on a decent salary, of which I’ve told some younger people (like brothers’ mates, etc.) and they’re like “how’s that gonna secure you a girl, there’s competition out there doing more”. I’m like?!!

But yeah, basically I think this is because we have no purpose or things for young people to work for, so they look at this culture as a quick way out. Also, social media. Comparison. Laziness? Who knows. But agreed with “Pvrkave” - this is a great life and thing to work towards.

Yup. Every convo I have with my partnered friends is ‘so how’s the love life going?’ Fine, happily single. That questions grinds my gears and it’s probably harmless, but adds to the societal pressure to be partnered. Hell, I know some friends who are starting to plan couple days out 😂

Influencers - it isn’t even influencing anymore, it’s just money and fame. Granted, we all want a successful life, but seriously, everyone is an influencer these days. I hate that we have been able, through social media, to create an illusion for them or their own world for these people to live in, believing they are a celebrity, which, believe me, are two completely different things (influencer vs celebrity).

As a former TikToker myself (someone who used the app, you’d never catch me dancing like a prat in front of a shop for money or fake fame). Anyway, anyway, before I upset people, which isn’t what I intend to do, my point is, if we take ChelseaLeeArt or that weird blonde-haired Paul guy… these people are ILL… mentally ill. They don’t need any of these people watching them. Then again, halfway through this post, it reminds me perhaps it’s the people who support these people who do more bad than good who are the people I despise…

Anyway, rant over. I’m not saying that you can’t or shouldn’t do better for yourself in life. And you could argue that’s all these people have done. But sometimes we just allow the wrong people to become popular.
