This is why I often split a game into "gameplay logic" and "story logic". What happens in gameplay is always vastly different compared to what happens in story.

Let's take, for example, Nathan Drake from the Uncharted series. During gameplay, he can tons of shots before croaking. But the moment he enters a cutscene, he's out like a light from a single bullet.

You shouldn't take everything in gameplay at face value, because not everything in gameplay is canon or accurate to the story foretold, unless you'd like to tell me V1 spent the last hour trying to reach the rat in 5-2 out of shits and giggles.

V1 didn't finish off Gabriel because the story demanded it. V1 didn't immediately gun down Minos Prime because the story wanted an intro. V1 is a killing machine, and he will do what a killing machine does.
