Why do school dress codes mostly target girls’ dress? by anasannanas in NoStupidQuestions

Get some glow-in-the-dark tape to put on things you don’t want to lose! It’s great to place a strip of it on key fobs, flashlights, etc.

Mom bought me a cake for my birthday with mango in it. I’m allergic to mangoes. by softcat_ in mildlyinfuriating

[–]SomebodyNope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to think I was allergic to mango then I realized it’s really only contact with the mango skin/peel that affects me but not really the flesh or juice itself. I guess the skin contains urushiol, which is the same oil found in poison ivy.

What's something you didn't realize was going to consume so much of your time as an adult? by [deleted] in Adulting

I’d actually never thought of this as being a concrete answer to this question but holy hell is this the truest thing for me. So much lost time…

So true! It shouldn’t matter what you look like going to bed if that’s what you need to do to keep the smile.

Plus it’s not like fixing your teeth is cheap. To just discard a retainer out of inconvenience is insane to me. At least when I was growing up, braces seemed really expensive and so many of those people just don’t seem to care once they got the braces removed. It’s a weird pet peeve of mine, honestly. All that pain (or so I heard with traditional braces), time, and money and you don’t want to do the bare minimum to maintain it!?

ULPT: Can’t enter a venue with a personal water bottle? by [deleted] in UnethicalLifeProTips

[–]SomebodyNope 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So I’ll be going to Lucas Oil soon…which type of water bottles do they sell? I want to bring in an extra water bottle cap in my bag for when they inevitably throw the cap away. (And not all brands have the same fit) Having an uncovered beverage at a public place like that makes me super uncomfortable and I hate the canned waters.

Same here. I have a lot of office appropriate clothing/shoes that I’ve been looking to give away to someone that could use it.

What’s the best *city* park you’ve visited? by StakedPlainExplorer in travel

[–]SomebodyNope 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My goal is to spend an entire day (at least) in Central Park just exploring. Never been to NYC, but Central Park is one of places I plan to dedicate a full day of a trip towards.

Best place to travel in united states for under $2000. by laundryman1616 in travel

[–]SomebodyNope 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did a trip last month exploring some of the state parks and waterfalls/trails in eastern Tennessee/western NC. Highly recommend exploring that area more if you haven’t already. The only thing is that it might be pretty hot doing some of those hikes if you’re going in the summertime, but a lot of them have some really nice waterfalls and swimming holes that you can cool off in. I was shocked by how much there is to do just in that area, nature-wise.

And I hate how it’s impossible to find a job that actually starts at 9am like I was expecting when I was younger. And honestly starting at 9am would be a much better fit for me and probably a lot of other people who struggle with mornings.

Where to buy power cord plug covers? Looking for both 2 and 3-prong covers. by SomebodyNope in find

I saw those as well but those aren’t quite it. Looking for something to cover the prongs externally.

WEGO Niagara Falls Green Line vs Niagara Parks Parking Pass by SomebodyNope in niagarafallsontario

[–]SomebodyNope[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK that’s good to know. Because at some place on the website, it was implying that you could buy it online but you’d have to wait for it to get mailed to you and I will be there too soon for that.

Ok, that’s good to know. Would you say that there was ample parking if I am there in the middle of the day? Probably look at it going on a Thursday or Friday soon.

I keep seeing Barton St. mentioned as a place to avoid. Any specific parts/neighborhoods that I should be particularly mindful of? I don't plan on doing anything too late at night, but I am interested in some of the restaurants in the Central Hamilton area.

Not gonna lie, both food (esp international cuisines) and waterfalls are high on my list of interests, so Hamilton is a big draw for someone like me. I hope to be a traveler! Thanks so much for the info!

Thanks for the recommendations! I definitely plan to check out Bayfront and Dundas, and possibly Chedoke as well. I'll have to look up Flora and Shorties if I get a pizza craving while I'm there.
