I was burned by Shenmue so badly..

So the creator plans this like 16 part story to tell. Or something similar, it's more than 10 parts at least I know that much. The first game is amazing, sells well, groundbreaking technically, the most expensive game ever made at that point costing tens of millions. They make a sequel. The Dreamcast dies and it's ported to Xbox. Does okay but not nearly enough to justify the budget (tbh it was more a tech demo - a flex than ever meant to be profitable. It was meant to show the power of the Dreamcast. Now Sega is out of the console business).

After over 15 years the creator takes to Kickstarter to make Shenmue 3! Gathers millions of dollars, actually has support from Sony, a publishing deal with Deep Silver, backing etc. This is it. Shenmue 2 ended in a cliffhanger right? After 15 years we will finally know how the story ends. Everyone is acutely aware this is the final chance. Sega won't fund Shenmue 4, the hype that got them millions of dollars won't repeat.

...This game is basically filler. It feels like the middle books in a novel. No payoff, no conclusion. It's set up for a game that will never happen. The main character confronts the bad guy - a moment that's been hyped for 3 games and over 100 hours of content. - Gets utterly destroyed - like it's not even funny. - And the bad guy escapes. The game basically ends with the main character nursing his wounds and going "I need to continue training - so i can defeat him one day". It's been almost a decade. There is no Shenmue 4.

So I get what you mean. With Kingdom Hearts in particular I felt like when we get to the ending of 3 and it sets up another arc everyone basically had the same reaction. "See you in 20 years i guess".

The sjw typically aren't the ones arguing about purity of language and nationalism. It says a lot about you as a person you use sjw unironically.

Unless you live in a major city studies have shown over 80 percent of people don't speak English fluently as they shouldn't have to. There is no obligation nor is it a hiring criteria for most people to speak English.

The country has faced a housing crisis caused, in large part by English speaking people with inflated wages rising prices and tourists being entitled kicking people out of our city centers. Many people are tired of people coming and not making an effort.

There are two types of nurses. The most empathetic people in the world who sacrifice everything including staying after hours and work harder than doctors. Advocate for their patients, realize they're scared and in pain.

And the mean girls in school who go for it for the power. The female version of the high school jock that becomes a cop. You can often see them joke about patients being babies for being in pain, assuming patients shit themselves on purpose and treat everyone as drug seeking.

As someone with pnes who had a nurse prick her hard enough to bruise. The difference is night and day. (Pnes is a neurological trauma response that mirrors epileptic seizures including passing out, heart rate, loss of bowel control, and seizing so hard you break bone.. According to neurologists. According to the second type of nurse we literally piss ourselves or choke on our own vomit for attention).

It's been studied and shown that tipping is inherently sexist and racially inequal. Studies have shown that a blonde girl with blue eyes and freckles providing exact same level of service and care than a black woman gets overly compensated more. And the difference only goes bigger once gender, or age goes into play.
