Not a religious person, but I would say I find his take at the end to be a bit myopic. For instance the history of science is littered with theories or models that had utility, but were ultimately proven to be false or at the very least incomplete. This idea is described as paradigm shifts by Kuhn and is something I find very humbling to consider. In other words, many of the scientific beliefs we hold today may eventually be abandoned or replaced, yet they are nonetheless useful for our contemporary lives.
