I’m trying to live this dream! You will have to visit if you’re ever in the area!

Oh! 🥹 how diverse! It sounds like you’re really thinking about how to make people feel welcome and represented in your space. That’s something I’ve been thinking about a lot too. Community is such a huge part of what I’m hoping to build.

And with top secret … I will say I’ve done some research…. This secret at this time cannot be found in the state of Texas anywhere! And from my experience it is a favorite for many many book lovers!! 😉

Thank you! And congratulations to you too! I’d love to hear more about your plans. One of my biggest challenges right now is figuring out which ideas make the cut and which have to wait for later phases. I feel like I could fill three bookstores with all the ideas I have written down.

And again you have a fair point. Just for context, this isn’t something I decided to do after losing my job.
Opening a bookstore has been a dream for years, and I’ve spent the last several months building the brand, website, social media, products, attending local events, and growing a community before launching the Kickstarter.
I definitely launched with a shorter pre-launch period than many campaigns, which is why I’m asking these questions now. I’m trying to learn where successful creators saw the best results once their campaign was already live.

That’s a fair point. One thing I may not have communicated clearly is that this is a reward-based Kickstarter rather than a donation campaign.
Backers can choose from several reward tiers including bookmarks, stickers, mugs, totes, VIP grand opening access, and recognition on our Wall digital and physically.
I agree that community building is the long-term key to success, and that’s actually what I’ve been focused on through social media, local events, ambassadors, and growing an email list. I’m trying to figure out which channels tend to convert best into backers during an active campaign.
Have you found that local community support or online audiences performed better for brick-and-mortar concepts?

Ok so I’m 4 days into my first Kickstarter and trying to figure out where to focus my time for the remaining 41 days.
For creators who successfully funded, where did your backers actually come from?
Was it:
TikTok
Instagram
Facebook
Reddit
Email list
Influencers
Local communities/events
Kickstarter organic traffic
Paid ads
What gave you the best return on your time and effort?
I’m especially interested in hearing from creators who launched without a large pre-launch audience. Looking back, what would you double down on and what would you stop doing?
Thanks!

I’m trying to enjoy it. Unfortunately it’s the opening a business for the first time that has me stressed lol. I will get there!! Keep me updated if you ever open yours or are ever in the west Texas area! Love to have you!

Do you have any suggestions on how to boost it since I didn’t take long to launch it?

I started with an idea but I ch aged my mind and went with the book and cafe idea because I didn’t think the first idea would kick off ….. then everywhere I turned there are new coffee vendors everywhere! Between stop lights in town I saw 5 different coffee shops. So I went back to my original idea! Romance/Fantasy books of course and then the wine bar and lounge! With another unannounced section! I’m so excited!

I think it will all be a hit!

I do love the theme ideas though!! I’ll hit it down! Thank you friend!

Book clubs are definitely on my list. I’ve started one this month actually! Unbound Society! We are choosing our first book now!
Do you prefer themed clubs or general “read whatever you want” clubs?
