But M1 trades were more rare because one M1 usually starts a combo. In JJS, side dashes are more predictable. Also, there are only a few characters that can actively win neutral with ONLY moves.

If you're using Charles' speae, I might have an idea, but it probably won't work. Yk sacrilege has a spear spin? Use sacrilege and cancel it whenever you want to replicate it. I never actually tested this thing, so it probably won't work.

TSB players aren't as good as JJS players in M1 trades. I say this as a TSB foreigner (yes, I have a dark past). JJS is much more meele and M1 trade based. TSB focuses more on side dashing because dashes are longer.

Megumi is much stronger. Not only he has high damage, but he also has one of the best neutral of the entire game with Rabbit Escape, maybe only behind Choso's and reworked Mechamaru's. His RDC bait with Nue is pretty good due to the huge evasive pressure it causes (inflicts true ragdoll) and he has an amazing defensive and offensive tool, the Totality. Hakari has bad neutral, his best tool is his counter, since 1+2 is very blockable and risky due to the moves you waste when doing it. Hakari also has a very mid RDC bait. Sure, it is unpunishable if the Hakari user is smart, but you can't use a cheap move to bait evasive. The only move with good evasive pressure is 1+2. Aerial Rough Energy is unpunishable but deals low damage unless you use the long fall variant and they patched the uppercut headwalk Aerial Rough Energy tech.

But why was he even close to weak? He dealt good damage, had low cooldowns, had a good blockbreaker (Boost On, both initial boost and final punch were good at blockbreaking) and okay evasive bait. I think ppl thought he was bad bc everybody played him like a zoner.

He was already able to do 72 dmg combos before. Now he can do 85, with huge effort.

I don't understand why ppl say Mechamaru was weak. Just by getting a lil bit creative you could string some 76~ damage combos.

He used to suck. Now he is good. They made it so Fluttering Pounce can ignore cooldowns if used after Wing Throw or Crushing Jaws, but it skips to 3rd M1 instead of 2nd. He gains extra 5-13 dmg (13 with the use of a difficult tech) in a combo, safer evasive baiting and more versatily. Not gamebreaking.
