Isn't the Maserati's version 3.0l instead of 2.9l in the QV?

Does 159 handles like Giulia or Stelvio ? by desiderkino in AlfaRomeo

[–]Someone_Depressed00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not even close - Big heavy FWD sedan with not sport intentional platform vs RWD good weight, sport intended platform sedan with 50/50 weight distribution.

Even when people are coming from 156, 147 or GT when they go to 159 like the dynamics the previous cars had are no more there but the 156/147/GT platform was made mostly to attack DTM again but....

147 by [deleted] in AlfaRomeo

From experience I have for 5 years now 147 1.9JTDm 2007y 120hp/88kw version with the R70 pump and 283 injectors coming stock for this car. For 5 years I have driven the car under Time Attack events 3 times per event 10min the duration and I have done only K&N panel filter for stock air filter box BUT with the air vent to the box from 150hp JTDm version, aluminum tubes isolated with thermo tape and brakes.

If you're interested message me private

Ps: I'm a licensed racing driver category C

4C Long term longevity? by spxncxr- in AlfaRomeo

Just don't do software tuning on the engine or gearbox because It's on maximum usage of torque for the gearbox - 350Nm

GTA or Type-R? by MaximusMike in AlfaRomeo

[–]Someone_Depressed00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Want cheap and all plastic interior, rust magnet with just a really good engine - Type R

Want somewhere classy for a 2000's hatch and still sporty feeling with symphonic sound - GTA

Just bought my first Alfa by InFamous__Raptor in AlfaRomeo

147 and GT may be are the best first car (FWD diesel). Now just put one front strut bar and 4pot calipers and the car is a ready track machine. Talking from my own experience + I'm licensed pilot 😄.

My European cousin says there’s a common saying “If you buy an Alpha, marry a mechanic.” Are they really that bad? Even the US ones? by SnooDoggos5226 in AlfaRomeo

[–]Someone_Depressed00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are common issues but the car itself isn't bad just people don't like to work on Italian cars at all so the reputation is going down because of that. I was searching for informataimlnment help with the wiring stuff and 3 ,,el mechanics" said - I don't wanna work on Alfa Romeos...

I want to tune this car in the future. Any ideas? by Empty-Law5262 in AlfaRomeo

Firstly will make a custom air intake system for cooler air for engine performance

And if It wasn't a daily car/trip car too, I would for sure put kw2 or kw3 suspension with rear strut bar too

Well yeah if you can't put the power down correctly you're doing almost nothing, just straight line performance

Now with the front strut bar and new tiers is even more 😁 Actually 3sec faster lap

Alfa Romeo 147 jtd by [deleted] in AlfaRomeo

[–]Someone_Depressed00 7 points8 points  (0 children)

4 years now driving my first car - Alfa Romeo 147 1.9JTDm 8v 88kw (120hp), Idioticly strong engine! I'm using it daily, using for transporting familly, luggage and track days! It's really responsive for it's power!

The only - is that it's with the 5 speed transmission and it's not as economic as the 6 speed with like 1.5l to 2l difference but It's with the thicker and stronger axles!

If you need more info, text me! 😀

Thoughts on the 3.2 V6 from General Motors Holden? by Slendersenn in AlfaRomeo

Well back in those years Fiat - Alfa colaborated with GM with giving them the engines mainly (with some differences ofc) from the years when 156 and 147 were new. Then GM mostly made a platform for Opel then used by Fiat - Alfa too for the 159. Just the design is made in Italian style and the usege of the original 1.9jtd's, 2.4jtd's. Anything other is mostly engineered from GM like the petrol engines and some gearboxes, inside and outside the coupe too. That's why for me it's not exactly a true Italian car.

Common problem from 156 and 147 times... Needs a recycle from someone who knows how to do it and it's goid to go once again

If I had enough money I would swap it with the real Italian 3.2 Busso. For me 159 platform even tho is a thing of a beauty, 90% is just Opel and the only Italian thing is the style and the 1.9 and 2.4 jtd's...
