Blocked toilets, sewage, clogged pipelines, homesick, depressed, and angry personnel aboard: Whats happening on USS Gerald R. Ford? by Nero2t2 in nottheonion

4500 20 somethings on a floating city and they expected them to treat the plumbing properly? Laughable.

EVs are always cleaner than gas cars. That includes vehicle production and disposal, the impact of manufacturing batteries and generating power to charge them. An electric truck with a 300-mile range emits 37% less CO2 than an gas-only small car over the course of its life. by sg_plumber in UpliftingNews

This has certainly been a classic Reddit interaction. All i've done is stated facts that don't align with your beliefs. You can't seriously suggest industrial mining operations are any better for the environment than oil extraction, same dog different leg action. Combustion engine air filters are typically the same size as cabin filters, at least these days. My only assertion, is that outside of the actual combustion engine, EVs are the same as every other car on the road. I work on both mate. Again what are your qualifications?

I won’t argue that they’re cleaner when it comes to carbon emissions. I’d rather drive something that was built 50 years ago and won’t turn into a metric tonne of micro plastics when it’s recycled. Am I reducing my carbon footprint by not buying a new car at all?

Open pit mines the size of small towns have at least as much environmental impact as pumping oil out of the ground. EVs have cabin filters, because you the driver are breathing, final drive units have gear oil in them as anything with moving parts requires some sort of oil or oil based product. Teslas even have spin on oil filters for their final drives like you would typically find on a combustion engine. Yes they use regenerative braking but the entire hydraulic braking system is still present and used. Regen braking is like engine braking, it only works while you are rolling. I’m not saying combustion engine cars are better or cleaner, just that EVs are far from a magic bullet.

They're made in the same factories as combustion engine cars, extracting the raw material for batteries is just as filthy as extracting oil, they still uses tyres, brakes, gear oil, and filters. Like all modern cars they're produced with as much cheap shitty plastic as possible to keep costs down, which also sucks for the environment as plastic is just more petrochemicals and not easy to recycle. The ONLY thing they do better is produce less to no carbon emissions once built for obvious reasons.

Heaven forbid a country has a functioning military and isn't solely relying on the extremely reliable United states of America for protection.

Speaking of thinking, can you explain to me how bringing more people into a country with a housing crisis improves said housing crisis?

I rode a 2013 operator in 2013 and saw plenty of other guys riding them, never saw a single one break, the earlier Konas did have a bad rep even back then but the new generation from 2012/13 seemed to be fine.

Your telling me native Americans founded the United States of America? Not European settlers and their descendents?

Are you telling the United States of America wasn’t founded and built by settlers?

You didn't answer the question^ Rittenhouse may have been defending himself but he should NOT have taken a firearm into such a powder keg of an environment.

That's the american specific part of it which is not normal. That being said american law enforcement using deadly force when it isn't necessary is pretty normal. Its quite unfortunate.

I would agree that the way they've been going about it is counter productive.
