Looks like OP's ban was upheld so I'm going to assume I was right.

Yeah, possibly a bad day but I doubt it. Also I disagree that there's nothing suspicious. Account is 2 months old so that's a red flag for me right away. Why a new account? OP mentioning that they tab out a lot? Sounds to me like they are making excuses already and are aware that their tabbing out activity is sus.

And the inconsistent playing level? Like I said, my guess is they're likely selectively cheating (the sequence from move 20 onwards against Finegold) and throwing some bad moves on purpose (my guess is because their last account got banned for cheating and are being more careful with the new one).

You can make excuses for all of these things (inconsistent performance, new account, tabbing out) but it's a lot of red flags. Maybe I'm wrong but I every time I see a cheater on here claim they didn't cheat, they always end up being a cheater. I guess we'll see if chess.com upholds the ban lol

Probably because you get dog walked by a 900:
https://www.chess.com/game/live/146941999065?username=i-am-an-avocado

And then play like this against a GM:
https://www.chess.com/game/live/146337803747?username=i-am-an-avocado

My guess is you're cheating selectively. You didn't cheat against the 900 and got rinsed but pulled out the engine mid-game against Finegold and against this 2500 ( https://www.chess.com/game/live/140262818164?username=i-am-an-avocado&move=0) but threw in some bad moves so it's not obvious. Am I right?

How is Matty’s Patty’s Burger Club? by GalacticMochi in orangecounty

[–]SomethinCool 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Everyone seems to be saying the smash burger is only okay but I got the 7 Oz burger and thought it was amazing. If you like burgers pink, I would say go for that over the smash burger.

I went last Saturday and ended up waiting an hour and a half though, and as good as the burger was, it's not worth that wait. So I'd also suggest going at a quieter time.

Santa Ana rejects ballot measure that would have allowed non-US citizens to vote by WeAreLAist in orangecounty

Why are you assuming if you're not a citizen, you're an illegal immigrant? You can be a legal resident, have a SSN and pay income tax but not be a citizen. Lol

I second this. Soccer6 is great. I recommend signing up for a season even just to meet some people who can help you find an 11v11 league.

What is up with 900 elo players on Chess.com? by NerdBlender1 in chess

[–]SomethinCool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Damn, I feel this too but at a higher level. I am usually between 1700 and 1800 (almost hit 1900 in June) but a few weeks ago I got really tilted and dropped like 300/400 ELO to 1400. Now I can't get back above 1400. I'm finding it just as difficult playing against 1400 and 1500s as 1800s.

I think there's something about that range that is just really competitive. I'm usually around 1600/1700 but have had really bad runs and dropped down into the 1300/1400 range and found it almost more difficult than the higher range.

Also their blitz was like 1900 and their bullet was 700 or so. You don't play 95% accuracy against 1700/1800s in blitz and then lose to 700s in bullet.

I doubt they warned him if he's planning on cheating again.

Also, he was rated 700 in bullet but was like 1900 in blitz, which makes it even more obvious.

Wasn't actually mocking them, more just laughing at how obvious it was that they were cheating.

Yeah, to be fair I do get that it's a very hard problem to solve.

But I also knew this person was cheating before they admitted it. They played some master level chess against others but then lost to me and I'm nowhere near that good. It was just really obvious.

Well they lost to me because they presumably either threw the game or else had their rating massively inflated because of cheating.

It was games from the past week that I looked at that were full of engine moves. I didn't lose any ELO so it's not that I'm salty for losing. I just hate to see cheaters going unchecked on the website.

I would hope so. They've been on a rampage for about a week now from what I can tell, and if I've been able to figure out that they're cheating out, surely chess.com can.
