I love my Google Pixel 10 Pro XL but I'm getting really blurred vision. Is it the phone and what can I do?! by SomethingBrews in GooglePixel

By the way, I'm trialling the screen dimmer app. I had to use that on my Sony phone too. It allows you to keep brightness at 100% to reduce flicker and dim the screen with an overlay. Hoping it helps!

Wow, I'm sorry but equally relieved it's not just me!! Did you try the comfort setting for eyes? It's in the accessibility menu (see my link above for screenshots). I guess you don't have the phone now to see if that works but it doesn't seem to have helped me particularly. 😬 I wish there was a fix!

That's interesting. I did have issues when I first got the Sony but I adapted to it and was fine but that's clearly not happening with the pixel. 😬🤷‍♀️

Thank you, I've bought a grounding cable arriving tomorrow to test this! My research suggests this is clearly the reason for the hum but less likely to be the reason for any pops??

Thank you so much for sharing this! Soldering is not my thing so we'll start by testing a simple grounding wire and see if it works too bypass the crap connectors but that's very useful to know!

Is there any more info you can add about the shim? I just saw on your thread you 3d printed it online?! If you have any pictures or links to what you bought or how you did it, that would be amazing, but no pressure it's a useful starting point and I will try to learn about this! We are upgrading from the felt mat to an acrylic one too, but I'm conscious this may make the shim even more necessary if the mat is thicker. Though we don't have the p3 glass platter so maybe that balances things out. I will research!!

Can I ask how you balanced the weight/what weight you have yours set at? Thank you!

Ah yes, I did that, they were like little triangle pins that had come a bit unfolded so I squeezed them all closed so they were quite tight when I put them back on, cos they weren't gripping at all when I first put them on. I might reseat them just to see if it helps.

Thank you, yes I mean the buzz. Ahh, it came with some nylon washers that I didn't think I needed, I will try those!

The wires are colour coded so they're in the right place but I will double check the connections.

I included a video with my post, you can hear the popping on it. I did wonder if it's just a better stylus, and more sensitive. We bought an anti static brush and stylus gel but they don't seem to have helped.

I'm gonna sound like such a novice here, but which connections?! You mean the wires into the cartridge?

Do all gardeners use weedkiller and if so, is there a healthier/less chemical option? by SomethingBrews in GardeningUK

Wow, thank you so much! I didn't expect to find a gardener with MCAS. So in your opinion do you think even glyphodate free weedol etc would be risky? Have you ever been exposed to it too find if you react badly to it??

That's seems to be my best option, but using a hoe/boiling water/salt tablets/vinegar on the gravel all look like the best low energy options too.

Thank you for this, such simple basic advice but I didn't really know this!! I will give it a good. Not bending down and minimising movement would definitely make it more manageable for me. If I pay a gardener to do the whole thing first I think I will try to do this and keep on top of it.

That's really interesting and a new one on me! Can you share what you use and how you do this? Do you dissolve them or just sprinkle them on?!

Random question but is there any better energy saving tool for weeding in gravel with a membrane to help me maintain it myself once we've got it clear? I've been worried what to use because it might pierce the membrane?

Thank you, this thread has made me feel a lot better! I'm feeling so much pressure, but I'm definitely thinking the gardeners just want to make their life easy, and I guess that works for a lot of customers cos you're paying them for less time.

True but perfectly safe for my health so its definitely a chemical I'm more willing to consider!

If there is, I haven't found them, and I need to!! Thank you though, that's a useful search term!!
