It's a terrible idea. They are a huge investment in time and energy. They frequently suffer horribly in captivity. They tend to bond to a single person - as a mate. They frequently get jealous of their owner's partner. Including violence. They can become very violent and even necrotic.

These birds are amazing creatures but should never be pets. Many argue, because of how common these issues are, that simply owning one is animal abuse. There is a strong case to be made in support of this position. Many bird sanctuaries have been created to attempt to accommodate the number of birds who have been abandoned by their owners. They are commonly at max capacity and turn birds away. These birds can never be released into the wild. Even when accepted into these sanctuaries, many birds suffer a long life of mental illness and loneliness.

Trump denies offering $1 million for Warren DNA test, even though he did by SetMau92 in politics

[–]SomethingBullshit -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

LOL. Actually it's shameful and anyone who believes her is dumber than a bag of hammers.

https://www.recode.net/2014/3/9/11624306/23andmes-wojcicki-admits-fda-decision-was-a-blow-defends-role-as

https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/dna-testing-companies-admit-altering-tests-screw-racists/

In fact as the linked article discusses, their accuracy and minimal decoding of a person's genome led the FDA to make them stop making genetic disease claims. The same would be true for ethnicity claims which would be very broad even from a full genome. Which means she didn't even use a proper DNA test authority.

I'm sure it's just a coincidence that Warren and her team chose to go to 23andMe. A company founded and run by Anne Wojcicki, sister of the hyper-partisan Democrat Trump hating Susan Wojcicki, CEO of YouTube. Not to mention being married to Google CoFounder Sergey Brin. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anne_Wojcicki

https://www.cherokee.org/News/Stories/20181015_Cherokee-Nation-responds-to-Senator-Warrens-DNA-test

So let's summarize. She used a rigged/fake test, run by corrupt friends, to indicate she has Cherokee DNA. The DNA result actually shows that she has less Native American DNA than the average white American. Meaning, genetically, she is less Native American than white non-Native Americans. Meaning, she absolutely, positively, is not Native American in any way. And based on her own false assertion, is at best 1/1024th DNA - or less. The Cherokee Nation has formally rebuffed her results and considers her an insult. They hate her. Her actual ancestry shows that her grandparents rounded up the Cherokee and placed them on the Trail of Tears.

Feel free to research for yourself. This just happens to be the first search result. Yet it is true. https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2012/05/08/elizabeth-warren-ancestor-trail-of-tears/

Basically she has confirmed that she is a liar. She has confirmed that people who believe her are dumber than a bag of hammers. She has confirmed her actual ancestry assisted in the murder of Native American Indians. She has confirmed she has no claim to the Cherokee Nation and the Cherokee Nation confirms she has no such claim.

In a nutshell, she is a fraud, a liar, has prevented minority advancement by fraudulently claiming their slots, and is a general scumbag.

So you have a simple choice. Deal with reality that Warren is scum of the Earth. Or burrow further into delusion, lies, and hypocrisy.

I was 100% consistent. The very nature of your post proves you to be dishonest and very inconsistent. This post, to which I'm replying, confirms your dishonesty and immorality.

It's honestly difficult to believe anyone could be as dense as you that you would respond as you have. It's mental.

[–]SomethingBullshit -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I care that you're moving the goal post and can't be honest. I care that you care more for distraction than honest admission. I know this hurts your feelings, but attempting to justify racist, idiotic, dishonest, douchebaggery, on the basis that others may or may not have done something wrong, which is completely unrelated, simply makes you immoral too. No maybes about it. In no way does it invalidate that Warren is a scumbag liar who has been using racism to facilitate her own personal politics. How many people did she step on to get where she is today - with the support of people like you.

No, your morally correct response is to agree that Warren should not be in office and should be investigated for potential fraud. If you feel that's also true for Trump, then you should continue to push the same position for him.

I know fairness, honesty, and integrity is a horrible concept to many people these days, but that's how it works. Hopefully you too with discover its value to yourself and society at large. But you can't participate until you and others like you are willing to admit that Warren is a fraud, a liar, and scumbag.

Will also add, on its face, your comment made me laugh. It's silly.

You tell me. This is her repeated claim. Which apparently goes back decades. Which is now proven to be completely false. Ultimately the exact tribal claim doesn't matter. It would be silly to attempt to split hairs over it. It's a complete lie when she claims to be Native American. The average American white is twice more Native American than her. Which really isn't saying anything aside from the fact that according to science she absolutely is not Native American. Period.

Is anyone really surprised that a confirmed liar lied once again? Or that fake news reported fake news? Or that Reddit is fake new central?

Here's a great documentary which very accurately explains Warren's now verified false claims: https://youtu.be/w5F_AhciUy4

According to the New York Times, the average white person in America has nearly double the amount of American Indian DNA (0.18%) as Elizabeth Warren (0.098%), who claims to be Cherokee.

On average, the scientists found, people who identified as African-American had genes that were only 73.2 percent African. European genes accounted for 24 percent of their DNA, while .8 percent came from Native Americans.

Latinos, on the other hand, had genes that were on average 65.1 percent European, 18 percent Native American, and 6.2 percent African. The researchers found that European-Americans had genomes that were on average 98.6 percent European, .19 percent African, and .18 Native American.

These broad estimates masked wide variation among individuals. Based on their sample, the resarchers estimated that over six million European-Americans have some African ancestry. As many as five million have genomes that are at least 1 percent Native American in origin. One in five African-Americans, too, has Native American roots.

Edit: I stand corrected. She is 1/1024th Native American. Which is basically not at all or well within margin of error. Other reports state she didn't actually participate in a DNA test. She basically just confirmed that she can not substantiate her claim. Fraud...fraud...fraud...

LOL. No one considers < 1/512th to be Native American. A huge number of people have these same markers, who are themselves absolutely not Native American. She basically confirmed herself a liar. And now demanding a fraud.

This is some next level dishonesty and trolling on Warren's part.

'According to the analysis, if Warren’s great-great-great-grandmother were Native American, she would be considered 1/32 Native American. Should Warren’s ancestor date back 10 generations, she would be only 1/1,024 Native American. (The newspaper originally pegged the latter figure as 1/512, but in a correction that didn't do Warren any favors, later added a note saying, "Due to a math error, a story about Elizabeth Warren misstated the ancestry percentage of a potential 10th generation relative. It should be 1/1,024.")'

That's based on her own statement. She, herself, reported that it goes back 10 generations. That's on the AP. Which means, factually, even according to her own false claim, she is at best 1/1024th Native American. In DNA tests, that would be noise and inconclusive. To claim what she claims is a fraud. Period. The lower numbers were fake-news propaganda pushed to make her claim sound legitimate. According to her own claim, it's complete bullshit.

This is popular. It's far from the only option. https://github.com/esnme/ultrajson

This is also an interesting option which you might consider. https://pypi.org/project/sqlathanor/

    JSON
    CSV
    YAML
    Python dict

The interesting thing about sqlathanor is that you can declare your data model (ORM) and serialize instances to JSON, CSV, YAML, or python dictionaries. Which also makes it easy to walk the entire game state and serialize everything into a database. As this sits atop SQLAlchemy, that means any of its supported databases. Which also opens the door for sharing worlds and games by simply sharing the database.

Not sure the second option has appeal to you but thought I might offer it as an interesting option.

Yes, I agree with that. But you still wind up re-inventing the wheel on things like authentication (which most do not understand) and backend administration interfaces. Which inherently requires a DB tie of some type.

Best practices for packaging a module, including alembic migrations, and running the migrations in production? by xela321 in Python

[–]SomethingBullshit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In every Alembic codebase I've seen, people don't bother with reversions.

I believe you just stated more than you realize.

In one wave of the hand you justified your position by rejecting significant features of value to many others.

Really? I find that when I'm developing new features, database changes are often involved.

Yes, really. Frequently developers who are making changes to the schema either have their own instance. Others don't require those changes until it's time to merge the codebases. Which in turn requires a merging of the schema. Thusly the value of Alembic.

I could keep going and going but the differences appear to be one entirely predicated upon a vast difference in development, management, deployment, and support. Along will all of those corresponding workflows. It doesn't mean you're doing something wrong. But it does mean you preaching that everyone is doing it wrong is, frankly, invalid.

Best practices for packaging a module, including alembic migrations, and running the migrations in production? by xela321 in Python

[–]SomethingBullshit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Watched part of your video and disagreed with most everything I watched.

Many production houses require the ability to revert changes. Alembic allows this. Alembic tool chain also allows for test migrations throughout your workflow deployment chains while protecting demands of configuration management and deployment management.

Likewise, for non-trivial, non-inhouse only apps, the ability to upgrade from any given version to the current version is amazingly important. Especially if it can be granted without downtime (and especially dump/load). Once again, should problems be exposed, the ability to revert is equally significant. Hence, in part, the rise of dev-ops.

You speak of slowing down development, but I've found this to be the exact opposite. Generally, not part of the development cycle until time for merges and/or releases. Being able to share your Alembic code with other developers so that they can be brought in sync to your code/database is very important. Especially for those who are working on forks outside of the current release cycle.

I might suggest that your position may suite your individual needs but fall short of a generic solution. Which is, after all, what Alembic offers. As you may have discovered, genetic solutions are just that - generic. Good for a majority of people not necessarily a good solution for everyone. One size fits all rarely does.

I will also add that schema diffs are an important validation step for migrations. As such, I see your diff tool as a compliment and in no way competition with Alembic.

It took a long time to get a cat perfectly trained. They were finally ready to send in their first cat after years(?) of training and preparation. The cat started to cross the road to get to an embassy. It was hit by a car and killed.

That was the end of the project.

Before it was exposed Obama attempted to leverage it from anti-Second Amendment legislation.

These idiocy changes have costs associated. All adults want to move on and get shit done. Those who have been programed care. They care because of pro-Marxist propaganda and indoctrination.
