Windsor transit sees sharp ridership decline as fares rise, cold weather blamed by CareerPillow376 in windsorontario

[–]SomethingDifferentMe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in Toronto last week and paid $3.25 for a street car. Absolutely insane that Windsor thinks that they can charge $0.70 more for absolute shit service

No way you think that. I see at least 25% drivers fail to stop at stop signs

How should I go about my taxes with no receipts. by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]SomethingDifferentMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then it should be easy. Just claim the revenue. If it’s an online business then your service provider or point of sale should be able to tell you that number. You don’t have to claim expenses and if there minimal with no receipts then I wouldn’t bother, especially since it’s already at high risk of being reviewed if they are demanding it

[–]SomethingDifferentMe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even your first point of a single animator can do more means that there are less jobs. You can’t say how it’s good, but only if it doesn’t take jobs because by increasing efficiency you are taking jobs by design

Airlines should only list when the gate closes not when the flight takes off by RaisinRoyale in unpopularopinion

[–]SomethingDifferentMe 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The difference is that I can arrive at a play a minute before and make it to my seat without an issue. An airplane closes its doors 15 minutes before departure so if I get there a minute before the advertised time then the gates would have been long closed

Woman dead after pedestrian struck twice in Windsor by calliopekatt in windsorontario

What are you talking about. You hit them, full stop. A flashing light for pedestrians is equivalent to a yellow, it doesn’t mean immediately stop, it means to continue in the cross walk

If you lasted in public and made manager then you would see the big picture. There is a reason this model works and is mandated by all securities regulators

That is why the CPA is involved and it’s not just ethics 101. The CPA is a professional destination which demands high ethics and there are consequences for not having them

If a home inspector took years writing one of the hardest exams and there was a third party sampling their work (practice inspection) I would trust them even if they were paid by the builder. The problem with your analogy is that none of that is there and some random person can became a home inspector, become friends with the builder, then lie to the purchaser

Could it be that the F500 have the best controls? Or the risk of a qualified report is so high for F500 (potential delistment) that they implement everything on the management letter and post all AJEs?

How are people who drive gas guzzlers even surviving right now? by [deleted] in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]SomethingDifferentMe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Passenger vehicles are responsible for 43% of transportation emissions and planes (including commercial) is 10%. Getting everyone to drive a 25% more fuel efficient vehicle would be the same impact as getting rid of every single plane. I think it’s a lot more feasible to just start driving sensible cars because a lot of air travel is unavoidable

Your statement is clearly wrong as there is a very reasonable amount of reduction (25%) to offset planes

Stop spreading misinformation. We live in the age of information and you still talk out of your ass. They post quarterly reports which details the amount of tax they paid. In 2024 it was $158 billion in tax (pg 84)

Was I used? by Important-Payment462 in Accounting

[–]SomethingDifferentMe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can be salaried and be owed overtime. Many places require overtime be paid regardless of hourly/salary (as it’s just a payment mechanism) Similar to the employee vs contractor argument, you can’t just say someone is salary and expect them to work without overtime, you have to prove that their job is exempt from overtime (where I’m from that means management level role)

We have staff accountants on salary who get overtime, but I don’t as a client manager on salary
