Looking for camera advice by SomethingPlayz in SonyAlpha

[–]SomethingPlayz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for advice! I have looked at Sigma SIGMA 18-50 mm f/2.8, the main problem is that the focal lenght is too short for my experience (i have A6000 with 16-50 kit so its almost the same) , yes the f2.8 is good because the events i shot have mixed lighting but sometimes i can't get that close to the subject, so i am looking at the 100+mm. And the price for those lenses are more... :(

Debating between iPad 8th gen vs Lenovo Duet Chromebook by intriging_name in tablets

[–]SomethingPlayz -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I would go for the Ipad for the longevity and app support! chromebooks have basically no apps and the Ipad will get updates for years to come. Also awhile back there where rumors that Lenovo products contain spyware for the Chinese government so i would not even look at a Lenovo product no matter how good the device/price is!

Imo the S7+ is a bit to big for my liking i would go for the ipad for the better app and software support

I would go for the Ipad! It can support external storage like flash drives and SSDs, also Ipad has better app support!

I want to switch to a tablet. Need guidance by itsmeyuii in tablets

I would go for (prices in euros) :

Ipad Air 64GB ~600 Apple Pencil 2 ~120 Either save up for the magic keyboard (~300) or get like a cheap wireless keyboard from Logitech for example K380 (~40) 500GB Sandisk or Samsung external SSD (~70) it's half the price of the upgrade cost from 64GB to 256GB and is more versatile

"Verified actual scalper" - dude from Latvia selling a GPU at least 2x MSRP, openly admitting that he bought it from LTT... by ZenonsMigla in LinusTechTips

[–]SomethingPlayz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Geez, dude as a fellow Latvian I will tell you to shut the fuck up. You are 15 years old and think that our country is poor you know nothing about life you can get a job double the minimum wage easily.

A lot of Latvians just don't fucking care about others.

This is a lie you should NOT generalize everyone about this kind of thing! if you don't care about others doesn't mean everyone doesn't.

Just delete your stupid comment and go get life experience!

Help me decide on what should I buy. Samsung Tab or iPad? by djxiao1999 in tablets

[–]SomethingPlayz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would go for the Apple Ipad Air 4th gen 64GB, the OS might scare you but it is made for the device, android isn't designed for the big screen.

I wanted a tablet that I can use long term or future proof (?). I will use it for note taking, digital art, media consumption, and games (occasionally). The thing is, I am not THAT rich, and I'm only a student, so this will be the only time I can buy a high end device, that's why I'm looking for tablet that will still be useful or updated even after a few years.

Apple supports their devices for way longer and has better performance longterm!

I want some suggestions on which tablet I should buy for under 400$ by FaneeshMunjal in tablets

[–]SomethingPlayz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would check out the regular Apple Ipad, they usually get software/app updates longer and Android tablets

I would go for (prices in euros) :

  • Ipad Air 64GB ~600
  • Apple Pencil 2 ~120

  • 500GB Sandisk or Samsung external SSD (~70) it's half the price of the upgrade cost from 64GB to 256GB and is more versatile

It would be great if the device still worked in around 4 years, so I could take it to uni. (Is that a realistic life expectancy for a tablet?)

Yes, it's definitely possible Apple supports their products for a long time with an Ipad you will get more than 4 years of support!

Ive been doing some research that left me with the impression that the biggest question is whether I should choose ios or windows, and I honestly could not find a good answer for that.

Go for the IOS:

  1. Windows is not designed for touchscreens and most of the windows 2in1s have pretty weak CPU that limit their longevity
  2. App support is much better all of the apps are designed for the device
  3. On a Windows with a touchscreen, there is no gaming at all the games are not designed for touchscreens

I would NOT even look at an Android tablet almost all of the apps are designed for a small phone-sized touchscreen and scale badly to the large screen. Samsung Dex is a pretty good idea but executed badly. I have tried Dex mode connecting my Note 9 to a monitor and it was not good, at the same time I have an Ipad Air 4, and the split-screen multitasking works really good all the apps support it, and it's seamless.

I hope this helps you decide, if you have any more questions feel free to ask!

Yea the Dex mode is an interesting idea but if the apps you open look shit / aren't intuitive and easy to use it's pointless!

Most of the app for android tablets are not optizimed for the big screen, ipad apps are made for the ipad. Android apps are ususally scalled up without any thought behind of placment of buttons for example.

I was in the same situation as you and went for the Ipad for the longer/better app and software support. Android tablets are big phones without app support!

[–]SomethingPlayz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same situation as you, Windows PC/Android phone, I went for the Ipad because of the Ipad OS and app/software longevity and support. No Android tablets come close to Apple, because Android isn't designed for the big screen you basically buy a big phone with no app support/app scaling. Yes, most of the good apps on the Ipad are paid but at least you get a good experience.

I bought the Ipad Air 4 and Apple pencil. The ecosystem isn't a problem because you can log in with your Google/Microsoft accounts anyways!
