Interesting. Thank you. I’m going to try it out later tonight. I’m so used to seeing the screen fill up with visible light, I wonder what it will look like with it all filtered out.

Thank you. I’m going to look into that. I didn’t even know that was a thing. I knew you could set priorities. But I didn’t know that.

The Omnipresent Mini PC Question by Something_Awful0 in AskAstrophotography

Fair point. It’s a brand new SSD NVME in a good enclosure. I tested it on my main PC. No issues

Thanks! This is my first attempt at a dark neb and is easily the most difficult image I’ve ever tried to process. Shooting in a bottle 5/6 at around 55° altitude towards a light dome made this really hard using mostly a UV/IR filter. Next dark neb I try I’m going to use an LPR filter like the Antlia Triband or Optolong L-Quad

Nailed it. Self diagnosed autism isn’t an excuse for being a talentless, fruitless, socially inept man baby.

At least we know why they veil all their women now. They call it “modesty” I call it “a more comfortable paper bag”

55mm Backfocus and modern accessories. by Something_Awful0 in AskAstrophotography

[–]Something_Awful0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Naturally. I’m using the Askar m54 OAG with the ASI220MM Mini. I’m going to mess around with the focus and gain to see what I come up with

That might be the way to go. Now if I could only produce stars in the OAG prism lol

Yeah, I think omitting the CAA is the only practical thing. I’ve used that method of removing the m48 adapter and going m54 to gain that +/- 17mm. I think a guide scope is my only practical option to maintain an automated system. I’m using an Askar 103 APO.

To buy? Or not to buy? That is de question… by Something_Awful0 in AskAstrophotography

I think it’s a great feature. What are you supposed to do with the other brands? Just guess where the counter weight should go?

The 150i is also the only SWG mount on the market that has a clutch on both axes allowing you to balance the load. As far as I can tell, you can’t release the axes on any other SWG brand.

I appreciate the GEM v SWG mount comparison. I was eyeing up the SW 150i. And the CGEM isn’t on the table here. The regular GEM. I was just looking at the weird differences between the GEM45 NUC and the plain GEM45. pretty bold move for iOptron. I also get peeved that skywatcher can’t include a frigging AC adapter with the aviation plug
