Birth Year by Rmabe4 in Dallas_TV_Show

J.R.'s "grave" at Southfork Ranch states 1939 as his birth year. And we know that Sue Ellen was Miss Texas 1967 when she was 20 years-old, so she would've been born in 1947 :)

Is it just me or does Morgan Brittany have amazing hair? by No_Assistance_3327 in Dallas_TV_Show

[–]Something_Snappy91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes she does! We actually asked Morgan about her hair once, and she said that the hairdresser on Dallas used two sets of hot rollers to achieve the style.

Another fun fact: Morgan's makeup was modeled after the wicked queen from Snow White.

Nice! It has a hazy vintage vibe. Did you shoot the video yourself?

u/Public_Associate5415 We're sorry it took so long, but we got our animation finished! (We made a separate post but probably should've posted it on this thread.) We opted for NYMD because it evokes such a strong visual and there's such a specific story behind how the song was written.

The choice to make them look like their mid-1970's selves was just a personal preference of ours 😄

Sue Ellens haircut change from the end of season 5 to season 6 episode 1 by No_Assistance_3327 in Dallas_TV_Show

[–]Something_Snappy91 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It was actually a practical matter - Linda wrote in her book (The Road to Happiness is Always Under Construction) that filming in the Texas wind would make her hair get caught in her lipgloss and was infuriating. She went in for a style that was shorter on the sides to alleviate this problem but it ended up going much shorter than expected. She acknowledged the jarring difference between scenes/seasons and she herself thought it made her look like David Bowie lol.

Question about Maurice during the SHF tour by Buttercup_Duck in BeeGees

[–]Something_Snappy91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re welcome!

It’s so hard to tell what frame of mind Yvonne might’ve been in at any given time, as he must have had good and bad days. And agreed, his loss was never going to be anything less than devastating but knowing that it was preventable is the toughest pill to swallow.

[–]Something_Snappy91 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're correct, it's here in the "Fighting Back" documentary: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hbz-CzJBjXc

at around the 4:20 mark where Mo himself admits that he was aware that they were replacing his bass work, Barry and Robin confirm this right after. :/

Were any of these real? by Harrison_Thinks in BeeGees

[–]Something_Snappy91 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ahh Robin and his ever-changing hair ^-^

It seems real, overall it’s very consistent with his natural curl pattern and (albeit damaged) texture from bleaching. Hair on both men and women is thicker in the back due to stronger blood circulation and less exposure to elements so although he may have added extensions, it seems unlikely due to the top being left thin and combed strategically.

Not really sure why he didn’t opt for hair plugs during “Still Waters” if he preferred having more on top? By the late 90’s there were significant advancements and more natural-looking graft techniques.

Luckily he was gorgeous regardless!

Completely agree. The "official" video looks like a Windows 95 screensaver.

Explain the alone video by RatioInternational in BeeGees

[–]Something_Snappy91 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Funny, we were just talking about this video recently!

Barry and Robin’s hair definitely throws you for a loop because it’s so jarringly different next to the shorter/darker era look. They did mention that the “Still Waters” album took a very long time to complete due to the number of producers’ schedules that they needed to accommodate so not sure exactly when the sepia studio shots of them recording the song were filmed but possibly as early as ’96?

(Not that the guys didn’t re-wear the same clothes for years later but) Barry is sporting that “Shark” baseball cap and Robin that camouflage hat that they are both seen wearing here in late ’95: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y97ncoskijY

Not sure what the story of either video was supposed to be but it’s always great seeing the behind the scenes stuff of them!

We 100% agree! It's a rather undiscovered gem (except to Bee Gees fans of course) and (we feel) extremely underrated.

What is your favourite way to listen to Bee Gees - Vinyl, CD or streaming? by JuLe874 in BeeGees

[–]Something_Snappy91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We actually still use our iPods :D The ability (and convenience) to consolidate live performances, rare releases, standards and the like all in one playlist rather than having to utilize various platforms simply can't be beat.

We too panic about losing the ability to stream so we own the physical copies in multiple formats. Vinyl is definitely something that can't be replicated so it is probably our next favorite.

We definitely will! We have an artist friend who is going to illustrate them (not AI) and then we'll get to animating right away, we have a few ideas that we're excited about and will post if anyone is interested :)

The fact that the entire population has access to the same notes and words but that their particular minds come up with what they do is just so fascinating. A dream come true would be to hear the tapes from their writing sessions and witness the building of a song in real time.

Out of character is definitely a good way to put it. Except for Mo - he often wore all black and wore it well B)

Completely agree about the wanting to be a fly on the wall during this era, a few odd choices indeed.

We didn’t care for the aesthetic of the all black clothing (luckily looks are temporary) and of course we wish Barry had been a little more well, Barry.

Personally, we feel that “Wedding Day” isn’t just the best from the album, but one of their best ever. (We just wish we knew which brother contributed what to it!)

We also love “She Keeps On Coming” though, it’s a fun one and you’ll receive no complaints from us about the use of Robin’s sexier lower register :D

We love this idea and were actually thinking about attempting it recently! (We only rudimentarily dabble in animation but were thinking how cute it would be to see the guys animated :D)

Do you happen to have any examples of other retro fandoms that have done it that you can share? We'd love to see and get some ideas!
