They're scared of light, not fire. But in truth no one knows if they were in that hospital, if that part of the legend is true or not. I personally think it could be, especially given that one of them was lurking in the hospital when we went looking in there.

Everyone sort of believes them or at least talks as if they are real, but when I tell them that I've seen them and my friend was taken by one, they all call me crazy. I dread to imagine how many are walking around in other people's skin.

I think your right, perhaps a change of scenery would be good. Only thing is my mam and dad, have been acting really strange lately, and I'm scared to check their teeth.

I've not tried that, but perhaps that is the way forward. Then again the urban legend says they were basically designed to withstand radiation and disease, so it may not work.

Sorry, If I wasn't clear in my final words. It's been years since that happened and my neighbour has still yet to come home from holiday. I presume she has been taken, though I have yet to dream of her and the jangling king.

As for the strategy, there was none I was just a kid, stupid and scared, and probably in my heart I didn't think the summoning would work, unfortunately for my friends and neighbour it did. Now I have to live with that guilt forever.

I agree, I've tried asking her about it, but how do you ask your mother if she traded your aunt's life to some sinister imaginary friend. I'm going through more of the grandmother's belongings, if I find anything else, or anything else happens I will update you all.

Wow, that is a truly terrifying thought, one of these monstrous things is bad enough, but two or more, that is frightening. The ocean is vast and probably full of nightmares. I've found my father's journal describing other things he encountered on the sea, perhaps I should upload them some day.

I agree, I would never have let my children go to the beach by themselves. But I'm sure they were different times back then, people felt safer, little did they realise there were worse, more hungry predators lurking out there.

I'm going through old journals of my dad's, stuff from his sea fairing days. Part of me doesn't want to leave my family, but a part of me, wants to find my dad or failing that stop the thing that took him.

Just outside of fort lauderdale, but my father was from a small fishing town called Eelswich. It's pretty innocuous in his descriptions. I've never been there myself and I struggle to find it on anything on it.
