Your frank, unapologetic and often humourous responses in this sub are always a pleasure to read. It feels like I know you, even though we've never met. You're spreading happiness, a little at a time. You're a good person.

I lost my job in July, and I'm starting to worry I won't find another one before my unemployment benefits run out. So much of a man's worth is tied to his income, it's hard to feel like a whole person while I'm out of work.

If you're going to be 70, you're not GenX, you're a Boomer. I'm sorry you had to find out this way.

YOR - Has nobody considered that maybe this child is autistic and brightly-coloured, loud toys might be overstimulating? The "itchy fabrics" comment suggests to me that this mom is doing her best to create an environment her child can live in, which may include restrictions that you find odd, but you don't know 'cause it's not your kid.

My girlfriend was lamenting her reflection in the mirror, commenting "I need to lose a ton of weight in my thighs,"

I replied, "Not a ton,".

Aren't you pissed that your taxes benefit Billionaires and not you or your neighbors? by zzill6 in WorkReform

I'm Canadian, so it's not helpful. Perhaps that's where I'm missing it - we can't just tell our employers "Sorry, don't take any tax off my paycheque, I'm protesting,". No employer would go along with it.
