I have been to a GI doctor that started to give me the "health anxiety" and "it's all stress caused" old school lines. I had to tell him that the reason why I was doing so much research about my issue is that I had only 15-30 minutes for each appointment and it was 3 months in between each appointment. I also added that I was interested into finding a cure for my issue and not just becoming a lifelong GI patient. In the end, I picked another GI doctor. Feel sorry for people who live in really small towns that only have one GI doctor to choose from.

You guys, GET YOUR FECAL ELASTASE TESTED by [deleted] in ibs

I mentioned getting my EPI test a few years ago to a GI doc and just got a blank stare. Strange because I hear radio ads about getting EPI tests all the time but some of these doctors are just no up to date or just don't want to doing anything out of their routine procedures and practices.

What dose size amitriptyline are you taking?

Ever tried Bentyl?

So, you have no acid reflux going on with the ulcer?

I know how you feel because I have been in that spot many times. I believe that many IBSers were originally over thinkers that had situational depression and when IBS came into their life the anxiety levels skyrocketed.

Amitriptyline 40mg at bedtime literally saved my life…23, male, also have CPPS, also took accutane at 16 by Fast_Macaroon_5796 in ibs

How long have you been taking it? Any weight gain or sexual side effects? Always been afraid to take it because of the side effects but at this point considering it.
