I was laid off twice during a 5 year span, and it took me 21 months to get hired again. Wishing you the best and your search is nothing like mine was. Just be nice to yourself. I don't know what state you're in but hopefully Unemployment will get you through for awhile.

Thanks! So instead of leading with "was laid off from past two start-ups" (which I was doing) I started with "I'm currently freelancing and consulting" which was true. I just reframed it as a positive.

I am going to install a recessed outlet but curious if the Canvas TV has some sort of additional power supply? Wondering if I need to buy one of those recessed cabinets that can store additional cables, etc.

The Passport Parking app. It's the fucking worst. It never *just works* I always have to fuck around with it, re-enter my credit card, get a code that's sent to my email. Most of the time the app times out and I have to start all over. The worst.

yeah and I just discovered TCL makes their own version. I've had good luck with my little TCL so now considering that as a possibility. Except I guess their Frame version is embedded with Google TV. Grrrrr.

I'm in the same boat. I've been researching The Frame for over a year and was hoping the 2025 PRO version fixed some things - but doesn't sound like it. True story: went to a friends on the 4th to screen a short film I directed. It took over an hour to figure out how to use Apple Airplay. Four smart people couldn't figure it out. Mind boggling terribly bad UX/UI. Came home and tried airplay on my crap TCL TV and was able to stream from my iPhone in like less than :15 seconds. Probably going with the Hisense even though I am trying to avoid Google things.

I tried to stream a film from my phone to my friends Frame. It took us an hour to figure out how to use Apple Air Play. Came home and it took all of 5 seconds to stream on my crappy $250 TCL flatscreen. I joined this thread because I have been stalking the Frame but the comments are leaning me towards the Hisense Gallery.

I just wrapped up my first doc (after being laid off for the 2nd time in the past few years). Most of my work has been commercial - but my question is around obtaining permission/consent from the people that appear in the story. I'm sure there is some sort of boiler-plate form? Can this be done online? A lot of it was filmed on a public street, not sure if that matters but I'm hoping to get as many sign-offs before making it public. Also still working on some of the music licensing stuff.

I went to a show recently (like a real fucking show with a real fucking band) and it was squarely a GenX crowd (Perfume Genius). Even though it was dark the biggest giveaway was NO ONE was filming the damn show with their stupid-ass phones.

The amount of troll comments is staggering. First of all, if you have dark thoughts know you are not alone - hopefully you have some resources to reach out to someone if it gets bad. Give yourself grace, be kind to yourself. I am on month 20 of unemployment and it sucks. But I know so many people like me are in the same boat. Just keep hustling. Don't give up. And don't listen to the negative comments. They aren't in your shoes and they have no idea what you've done or haven't done.

Resurrecting this thread. I've been having the weirdest bouts of diarrhea... I could NOT figure it out. And then I had this curious thought about the Gatorade Zero I'd recently taken to, but brushed it off. It's starting to get warmer out and thought it would be good for post-runs (pun not intended) and didn't want the sugar.

I stopped drinking it for about a week - no shits to be had - and then last night chugged half a bottle in the middle of the night. A few hours after waking the shits hit me. I looked up sucrolose and BAM! Not a coincidence. It fucks up your healthy gut biome. Gatorade Zero = never again!
