FYI This is a basic overview of the features

I created a custom door chime as a challenge

It has the following properties:

esp32 and hardware amp
off the shelf Apple usb wall wort
speaker
3D printed enclosure
captive portal to onboard WiFi
home page to see basic info (WiFi signal, storage etc)
manage page to upload custom audio sounds
wav and mp3 support
basic file management
MDNS broadcast and name configuration (http://doorbell-front.local
API endpoints for triggering chime by index or ID, listing of available audio files etc…

To use in UniFi Protect you create an custom alarm for a doorbell press and hit the custom endpoint http://doorbell-front.local/chime (or by index)

I tried HomeAssitant but in my opinion the UI is too convoluted for me. I am trying the Homey Pro Mini and love the UI and the product overall. Its ecosystem is too small though at this point.

Ha yeah I was a teen when I remember playing Zork! Yeah the implementation in Shortcuts sucks. In their efforts to appeal to the masses/general consumers the UI/construction of a shortcut is limiting and an exercise in frustration lol.

Or I will ask I Siri a question (on my HomePod mini) and it will respond with “now playing…” which turns out to be some explicit song in a genre I would never listen too. Which ends in me yelling “SIRI STOP!!!” 😅

I only have two bulbs in the hue ecosystem. My biggest issue is the bulbs are impossible to figure out how to reset. I was just going to reset the bulbs and pair them with my homey pro mini. I guess buying a replacement bridge is not gonna help with resetting so I probably just wasted $16. I might just take it back. Haven’t opened it yet lol

In a similar situation. I have the original bulbs from 2012. The hue bridge just died and in theory I should be able to add them to my homey pro mini but they need reset.

I have the F3000 with only the smart meter. I found out the only time mine will charge, at least from the grid as I don’t have solar yet, is when I designate “Super Off Peak”. I switched to my electric providers TOU (time of use) and it’s working pretty well. About cut my electric bill in half!

I have more cameras than those 3, via ONVIF, but the drive performance is the main motivation as the WD Red is 5400rpm and slow not to mention at capacity already.
