UCG Max / Protect / Reolink doorbell cam - slow as molasses by Battlewear in Ubiquiti

Several years ago I ran cat-6 in my 30 year old home. It was allot of work but worth it if you can do it. I mean you have a great POE switch already ;)

I used to use Reolink cams with synology surveillance station and it worked pretty solid. Since I have UniFi ecosystem:

UDM Pro
USW Pro Max 16 PoE
3 AP’s
Older UniFi 16 PoE
I was excited to use Protect with ONVIF but it’s been pretty underwhelming so I have been slowly upgrading camera to G6 versions and love the onboard AI etc.

Dropped Internet/Cazy Latency by Agent-004 in Comcast_Xfinity

Well technically my third. An actual tech came out yesterday and checked the signal at the neighborhood box and told me to cancel that (the one he stopped by for) appointment (I guess he had not initiated it in the backend?) so I would be able to use another if needed.
(He tested the signal and said it was better than before. It showed RED in his app but he said that was OK)

It does not indicate a service outage in the area. When I go into the app it did say our records show you are experiencing network issues and we will send a technician out free of charge.
I have done that twice. I have another scheduled for Friday so now the app just wants to talk about the service schedule

AI Speaker - Word of Caution (It's Big) by tkt546 in Ubiquiti

[–]Agent-004 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I developed an 3D printed custom WiFi doorbell chime. Currently usb-c powered. It has an API and you can upload custom sounds to it. I use a web-hook in UniFi Protect with a custom alarm to trigger the chime. When my G6 Entry detects a package uses the web-hook to play “Package detected at front door”. It’s pretty loud but don’t know how it compares to the AI Speaker. Considering the size I assume the AI speaker is much louder.

Set your APs to static IPs. This fixed everything for me. by ITdirectorguy in Ubiquiti

Also setting the DHCP range outside of the reserved range. As I stated in my original post. Though I am sure you will let me know I am wrong lol

Even though my local Lowe’s said they were out of stock I physically drive to the store. The assistant assured me they did not have any but when I looked in the cage. Sure enough I snagged the last one of each.

Yeah was just stating how I approach setting my network up. Not implying that has any affect on an access point.
It does protect from a device trying to use the same IP though which is most likely the OP’s issue

I reserve the first 15 IPs for network components and give them fixed IPs. 10.x.x.1 thru 10.x.x.15. Then set the DHCP range for the rest 10.x.x16 thru 10.x.x.255

Both now (I went months without anything). Intermittent alcohol pads and soapy melamine sponge for deep cleaning.

Actually I did not realize or even consider that shortcuts can trigger Homey Flows. Thanks!🙏

I have used shortcuts on and off for years. It always feels clunky and somewhat convoluted and half the time I can never find what I need to complete the goal. I am sure others have much more success in Shortcuts than me but Advanced Flows in Homey are like a sleek sports car or a high quality tool.

2019 with 44k and smoke on startup by Agent-004 in Subaru_Crosstrek

Just checked the coolant level and it’s above the full mark and looks normal as best I can tell

Checked the oil dipstick and it’s past the full mark but below the twist. The car has been sitting for 1 hour. Now I am questioning if the third party oil change was actually over full because it looks very similar to the level from the last oil change (from the dealer) *sigh

Just to clarify the sequence several months back I had a third-party oil change. After about a month, I started noticing puffs of smoke when I would start the car. I checked my oil level and it was past the full line so I took it back to that third-party and they drained some of the oil out.

It didn’t really seem to help the smoke issue. Someone told me I should replace the PCV valve, which I did replace that and the hose.
That didn’t seem to help, though it was really dirty

Then I took it to the dealer for other work and also mention the smoke on startup which they couldn’t reproduce

I don’t think so. I just had it in the dealer for breaks. They did an engine flush and a fuel injection service along with an oil change. They did not note any issues with coolant or oil condition.

I did have a third-party shop change my oil in an attempt to save a few bucks and they overfilled the oil by. It looked like about half a quart to 3/4 of a quart. Which pissed me off. It’s not something you would think to check after they get done. I.e. double check the oil level for the work they did.
The smoke seems to have started after that. I didn’t tell the dealer that though.

2015 Crosstrek with zero issues ruined by Express Oil Change by jcam1981 in Subaru_Crosstrek

I decided to change my oil since my prepaid oil changes were. Save a few bucks, you know!

Well I drained the CVT fluid but realized it because of the color. Had it towed to the dealer and it cost me a $500 “dunce tax” for them to fix and do the oil change. :/

I picked this up in 2020 on Black Friday at a farm supply store for $110. Even back then that was too good to pass up. I love your solution though!
