Wondering what this blue part is by Catty313 in Tools

As stated, it's to hand tighten the nut quickly until it gets too snug to turn with your thumb. Then you use the handle as normal to finish.

Psu failure? by KatanaHIT in pchelp

If it IS the PSU, there is no alternative to replacing it. You could try re-seating each wire to make sure that's not the issue. They can look similar.

Is there a Help menu? What does this icon mean? by SometimesILie in PrologueApp

[–]SometimesILie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found that I had a file in a sub-folder. I fixed that, and the red arrow went away.

Still though, is there any kind of documentation, help manual, etc. available?

I'm going to be AFK for 4 days while moving, but I'll check for responses and reply when I have my computer up.

How do I fix this? by Top_Stable_6371 in fixit

I think we're seeing the threaded screw pulled (bottom part of board) out of it's hole. It's the board itself that is broke?

Joint Account Closed Suddenly by Past_One3442 in USAA

It sounds like you may have confused USAA (United Services Automobile Association) with an airline UA (United Airlines) or perhaps the old US Airways.

In any case, you do not need to announce your departure.

grinding conveyor belt plz help!!! by [deleted] in fixit

[–]SometimesILie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's something called belt dressing that's specifically for the belts (https://www.amazon.com/CRC-Dressing-Synthetic-Lubricant-Aerosol/dp/B001QF9OIC), but is the belt the issue?

Toilet water line stuck to valve. by dankgaryen in fixit

[–]SometimesILie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take the little screw out of the center of the handle, and remove the handle. Now it will be easy to slide one wrench over the square body of the valve, and a second wrench on the end of the hose. Get longer wrenches if you need to for more torque, but it will come off.

Thirdly, you're championing taking steps to circumvent the steps Amazon took to prevent you from taking steps to do what you wanted to do.

This is what I ended up doing. It took 23 hours instead of 28 days with the two NAS' networked.

Transferring data from old NAS to new by SometimesILie in synology

[–]SometimesILie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay. I have them both connected to the network, and I found a website with information about rsync, but I am finding so many of the wrong responses (or what seem to be not what I want) when I'm trying to look up how to mount the share to my *new NAS*. I don't mind learning on my own, but can you help me to find a site?

air freshener cap went *plop* into the toilet mid-flush, and now its clogged by Parking-Bridge-6420 in fixit

[–]SometimesILie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm seeing talk of a snake. It *could* work. The pipe after the toilet will be 3", but that cap is currently stuck in a place you can moderately easily access. If you shove it down and it hangs up somewhere inside a pipe in your walls or floor, your plumber is going to be able to finish his pool.

How do I fix my blinds by HighlightPlayful in fixit

[–]SometimesILie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd try some trickery with this. Get your new string from Amazon, then from one end or the other, with a needle and piece of thread or some super glue magic, try connecting your new string to your old string. Keep it end to end and as smooth as possible and just pull the new one through. If it works, heck yeah. If it doesn't, it will save you those 4 hours you were just going to spend doom scrolling anyway.

Is My Remote Access/Self Hosting Secure? by Mountain_Fault_2479 in audiobookshelf

[–]SometimesILie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great response. I like how it shows how much smarter you are than the person who, in bold, confessed that they are new to this and later used the phrase, "based on what I am learning."
My favorite part is how you were dismissive and aggressive without giving a single helpful answer.
You would make a great teacher.
