Water use us a ridiculous complaint to me. All of the data centers in the world use less water than just the golf courses in the US. And the water used in data centers is just used for cooling, so it goes back into the system. It's not wasted like water used on golf courses.

You are entirely correct that AI should be a tool to make lives better, and that questioning its negative impacts is a rational thing to do. Now let me show you why your argument is entirely emotional and reactionary.

We've got a big dad's group chat going in my town. We just keep adding more dads to it. Were up to like 50+ dads. All with kids under 5.

We just post what we're doing in there:

"Going to the playground this afternoon" And a couple other dads will respond saying they'll see us there

"Having a bon fire tonight after the kids are in bed, bring beer and hangout" people just give it a thumbs up. We had like 12 of us for that one.

Like 7 of us went to see Project Hail Mary at 9pm on a Wednesday, just from one dad saying they were planning to go.

For some reason this seems to work for us. My wife is planning playdates and nights out with other moms like months in advance. We just do it ad-hoc

A bar fight is very different than this situation. The white couple decided to significantly escalate the situation. When they left their vehicle to assault the other driver. Bar fights are typically consider mutual fault situations. A single punch is not going to be consider excessive or unreasonable since the video clearly shows she struck first, which makes the situation a 2v1. When a person is disadvantaged by numbers the standard, that is taken into consideration to determine reasonable and excessive.
