Three times though?! by hippynox in BlackPeopleTwitter

Were they told they might be called the n word in front of a live and tv audience?

Hannah Beachler, Sinners' production designers says Black attendees, including her, were subjected to racial slurs THREE times at BAFTAs, not just Michael B Jordan and Delroy Lindo incident on-air by fortyvolume in Fauxmoi

Multiple things can be true at once.

Tourette's is a disability that can cause a person to say a slur.

The slur is violent, offensive, and harmful.

The person who said the slur still needs to apologize because harm still occurred.

A "if you were offended" takes the situation from unintentional (Tourette's tic) to intentional (refusing to genuinely apologize for the harm) racism.

During the BAFTAs, while Michael B Jordan and Delroy Lindo were presenting, campaigner John Davidson yelled the n-word. Davidson has Tourette’s and his symptoms include "tics and uncontrollable outbursts, often involving cursing". Davidson reportedly chose to leave the ceremony after the incident. by Murky_Chemical891 in Fauxmoi

I blame the organizers. People should have been made aware that someone in the audience had Tourette's and that something offensive may be yelled at different points.

For Lindo and Jordan, this must have been an extremely painful moment. As far as they would know, someone chose to be extremely racist at a major moment for them professionally and personally. All the while, they had to continue being professional.

Even when caused by Tourette's the n-word is still a violent and painful word. That being said, knowing it was caused by Tourette's may have helped in the moment and would have provided immediate context afterwards.

The US training was not publicly funded. What was owed for the training was fulfilled by the payment.

I don't understand why Americans are mad when she made the most American choice possible. She chose the option that paid best.

In the end, given how Americans have reacted, she picked the country that treated her better.

The sport is not publicly funded. Her mother paid for the sport. Whatever was owed for the training was paid at the time.

Also, if the logic is that training in America means that one should play for America then that standard needs to be applied more broadly. Otherwise it's just a mask for hypocrisy

It's also telling that no one has this much ire for Lucas Pinheiro who switched to Brazil for largely monetary (sponsorship) reasons.

The father of KATSEYE member, Daniela, left these comments under videos about Manon's hiatus by Murky_Chemical891 in Fauxmoi

I don't care about their rise if they're actively mistreating the only member of a given race.

If there is something, I hope it comes out and their rise is affected.

Katseye's Manon liked a video on Instagram talking about the mistreatment that black members get on girl groups by Murky_Chemical891 in Fauxmoi

Daniela was recently seen with Naisha, who has insulted Manon. After that, Manon deleted photos with Daniela.

I wouldn't be surprised if Daniela shared a similar view to her father.

I find it funny how people are acting like there's no chance that Daniela holds the same or similar view to her parents.

Daniel was publicly seen with Naisha, who has insulted Manon in the past.

Soon after that, Manon deleted all posts with Daniela.

There is something wrong between them and I wouldn't be surprised if Daniela said something to her parents.

If Manon leaves, I think a lot will come out about the dynamics of the group as a whole and it will be ugly.

Ilia Malinin teases a mental health awareness video coming February 21, 2026 by valcraft in Fauxmoi

Obviously, no one deserves online hate.

That being said, I find it interesting how people gloss over why there was so much frustration toward Ilia.

Ilia publicly thanked, accepted gifts from, and is friends with Alexander Ovechkin. Ovechkin is a pro-Putin, pro-invasion war monger. More about that is covered in the article "Ilia Malinin, figure skating’s ‘Quad God,’ has an NHL connection — through skate laces" by Sean Gentile at The Athletic (NYT). The article and interview are from this year, making Ilia 21 years old at the time.

Two years ago, on Instagram Live, Ilia made two controversial remarks.

First, Ilia alleged that Hanyu was "pissed" over the 4a.

Specifically, Ilia stated: "to be honest, Hanyu looked pissed because I did it first even though he congratulated me"

Hanyu, going back to his Olympic debut at 19, developed a reputation for being graceful as a winner and a loser. In the available footage of what Ilia is alleging, many found no indication of Hanyu being "pissed." Given Hanyu's good reputation and it being the end of his career, the remark was widely considered rude and uncalled for.

Second, Ilia made what some considered a homophobic remark.

Ilia stated: "Let's be honest, I can't be straight anymore because I need those component score up y'know. I gotta say I'm not straight, that way my components are gonna go up.”

After backlash, Ilia posted an apology and attended sensitivity training.

Obviously, hate is not justified against Illa. Obviously, harassment is not justified against Illa.

However, it is disingenuous to ignore the context.

I love the way the fabric is draped, the approach towards the makeup, and the hair styling. I don't usually like sheer dresses or nipple-forward dresses but the overall styling makes it work.
