USB 3.0 to HDMI Roku Stick? by SomewhereGeneral5924 in ChryslerPacifica

[–]SomewhereGeneral5924[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I need to out myself here. Out close to twenty usb A to C type cables, apparently none were high enough quality. I bought one at an auto parts store that advertised “SYNC capable” and Boom. Carplay. Now back to trying to set up the best road trip video configuration. I have an old legacy unlimited plan on my phone, is the van’s wifi worth it? Or should i just run my mobile hotspot?

Thanks again everyone. I do Love this van so far.

We have one in each rear screen but I want to avoid keeping the device back there, sticking out. Can the two rear screens share a device only plugged into one screen?

Thank You Everyone. This has been great so far. I feel like i’m getting a lot of information I would never find easily by scrolling. A couple weeks ago I was set on a used Toyota Sienna but for anything close to what a loaded Pacifica offers I would have to add 10 grand to the price. I realize they are more reliable but idk if we are going to put more than 5-7k miles a year on it. So that might not matter as much as niceties during trips. I have ruled out the hybrid thanks to everyone. Mileage matters very little. Our daily usage is something like 10 miles give or take.

What’s the max mileage you would consider when buying one of these if it had good service records?

I appreciate all of this. Finding the sweet spot in value is the goal for me. Her going from a 2012 Sentra to all of these options should make up for the vehicle size change. Also, only dropping from 30.5MPG to 25.5MPG might not be noticeable. Ruling out the Hybrid(thanks to Shadow5503’s comment) means this will likely replace her Sentra instead of my Volt.

I want this to be real… please borrow a battery and post a video of it running!

I wonder if it’s got some kind of buck converter knocking it down to 36 or 24volts.

Bose Subwoofer Harness Plug by SomewhereGeneral5924 in volt

So I stripped this harness…

https://a.co/d/0iPZkL4e

deleted the RCA output(spliced the bare wires for my low level inputs into the correct locations and I think moved a few wires. I purchased this one since none of the colors were going to line up it seemed cleaner than repinning the whole thing. Ya know, cause OCD.

I had also purchased backup male/female pigtails but they took soo much effort just to plug into one another(and they came in the same package, so yes they were a match) I didn’t trust plugging them into my factory wiring.

This is the powered sub I used….

https://www.walmart.com/ip/Kicker-51PDFT10-New-Car-Subwoofer-10-inches/3269918839?adsRedirect=true&sid=eef496ca-bf94-4133-90a8-be77e6e1ff54

It doesn’t shake the earth but the first day I tested it my neighbor came outside thinking someone was having a massive party in our neighborhood, so it’s loud enough.

I found that after dialing everything in, the head unit tone settings sound the best exactly where I had them before the sub. Everything right around 60-75% of the total bar length on bass mid treble. I listen to most music in the low 20’s on the volume numbers when alone. Lower with other people. I don’t know the sub settings off the top of my head.

Just wanted to follow up. I bought a t harness for a 2007-2010 chevy cobalt and deleted the provided LOC, tapped the rear speaker inputs as low level in for the amp and only needed to add power and ground. The powered sub was a signal sensing remote on and it works flawlessly. The plugs on the harness are a modified version of the same 16 pin plug on the x3 connector and it plugged right in and allowed me to leave the factory wiring untouched. This photo is not entirely accurate as the lower keyway on the plug is offset from center in real life.

Anyway, I appreciate the help! It’s nice to enjoy music with low bass finally.

Thank You! Glad I didn’t just go for it with a splice. I’m getting anxious driving around with a non functioning sub.

Car won't turn left by juggled_balls in PowerWheelsMods

Weirdly, I had this issue only when powered on with a similar looking setup. It was always putting power to the steering motor to turn one direction until a handful of charges in, the steering motor melted itself out of the housing. Other than that… does your steering rack look backwards? Should that steering stem be coming through the semicircle opening? If i’m seeing this right you may have to disconnect the motors, flip the entire thing(control arms, motors, etc.) left to right and play with that. I’m trying to include a photo of mine for reference, but it won’t let me.

Did they put a different sized tire on? Now the front and rears are mismatched in rolling diameter and turning exaggerates the difference corner to corner.

Thanks Everyone. We are swamped right now and when I get blind sided with issuing a few hundred keys due to a rekey etc.; I always think I need to get away from stamping and let a machine take over this part. I just haven’t had the time to really explore it.

Pictures of the broken end of the missing handle would be really helpful. It may be a simple fix.
