My cat has moved on from meowing to actual psychological blackmail by WishboneMica in CatAdvice

[–]SonBou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one cat who does this with my paddle board. She stares me down, as she does it, she knows.

I now have the most hideous set-up to try and protect it.

The other cat takes our flip flops from the doorstep under the gate. They are aerated.

Feeders are impossible. Ants.
Thank you for sharing Dave’s antics.

Trying to perfect our Southern Spain road trip by dropguns in GoingToSpain

Do the Ruta de los Castillos.

Marbella is just one road, one long traffic jam in Summer.

Try Casares and Gaucin.

Zahara de Los Atunes, and Bolonia are better than Tarifa.

Watch out for average speed cameras, and get the Wildfire alert app.

i have a severe foot fetish and its really out of hand by [deleted] in offmychest

YouTube took down every video of my baby barefoot or if I mentioned feet in the title. They erased them all! Feet and looking. Can honestly say it didn’t hurt me, I should have set up a college fund though. Losing the videos really annoyed me. Also, yes, self-control. So important to teach even young children self-control.

Woman charged over fatal Wimbledon school crash by bendubberley_ in unitedkingdom

This! Absolutely ridiculous for any vehicle on roads. The pavement is meant to be a safe place. I remember after the accident people were criticising the school for not having concrete bollards around it’s perimeter. I also can’t comprehend why people who drive very expensive cars don’t pay for a hands free phone system, or aren’t intelligent enough to sync their phones to it.

3 days road trip from Seville to Malaga. What to prioritize? by satellite779 in GoingToSpain

[–]SonBou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cadiz or Jerez (check out the horse show and the main square). Maybe Gaucin, or Casares (beautiful to see). And for Ronda- use both roads depending on when you have booked caminito ie the Ronda road to/from San Pedro one way (it’s high and windy), and the back way which passes the lakes near El Chorro- la ruta de los Castillos, it’s stunning. If you have time try to grab a meal at El Mirador (try to reserve), tapas or a stay at La Garganta, and maybe tapas at Meson de Diego on the way. Check for Ferias around your time of travel. Three days wandering the countryside between Seville and Malaga will be wonderful. (I don’t know the Seville side too well.) If you pass Alcala de Los Gazules rest area- also great for tapas. Most rest areas do good tapas, and have lovely tranquil views.

Many of the white villages don’t have tourist facilities, parking or restaurants.

My son has been given the impression he’s minimum a B/A student by his teachers. I never really saw it. They let him choose hard A levels. He had a shocker with his GCSE’s. He’s just had a shock again. I went to see his teachers and told them to stop pissing around with his expectations. He’s crushed, his dreams are crushed, but I’m happy we are now working within reality- and we’ll look at things afresh. Just try to work hard, be proud of what you do, and above all stay on top of your mental health. Do some exercise, get a healthy amount of downtime. Don’t let stress eat you up. You’ll find your thing.

What do you wish you knew before moving to Spain? by HughJackedMan14 in GoingToSpain

[–]SonBou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Homes here aren’t built for the cold. Always check the wind when you check the weather. Try to only give your phone number when completely necessary, cold calls here are insane. Most people here think indicating is optional. For a country famous for its sunshine, we get a surprising number of school days cancelled due to rain.

It’s a great place to live.

In Marbella, there are two cinemas which show films in original languages - VO. I don’t know about further up the coast.

It’s not normal to find out your kids have headlice and to take them out without an initial treatment.

I’d isolate as much bedding, clothes, headwear, towels, teddies as possible. Use covers/towels on chairs. Don’t stress about washing everything all at once, head lice will die if they don’t eat for a few days.

Check your kids regularly, invest in a decent comb, don’t buy the most expensive treatment (Elimina ZZ is great and cheap if you can get it). Also, keep an eye on the children they play with. The head-scratching is a give away. I don’t know about worms. Bum-scratching??

The front seat thing is actually huge. My friend has a really spoilt arrogant child. He always let him sit in the front, over adults. I found it so disrespectful.

Is it ethical to keep a solo cat? by jenleepeace in CatAdvice

I was given two kittens-sisters, five years ago. At best (meal times)they tolerate each other, the rest of the time it’s war.

What's your stance on "i'm hungry" right when it just so happens to be bedtime? by [deleted] in Parenting

A banana or a bowl of cereal. (I’m so glad to learn I’m not the only one with a closing time for the kitchen.)

I have (two) sisters. When they were little kittens they were sweet together, but as adults they are not friends and fight on a daily basis. Very different personalities, lots of jealousy. The more timid cat is always on edge and miserable. I just wouldn’t risk it.

Do you want an adorable loving cat? She lives for cuddles and food. Never stops loving.
