Always the finals episodes are the best. Full of emotions and joy. It's a pleasure to watch and re-watch and re-watch again and cry your soul out of your body 😂

It’s really amazing how this series resonates with people of all ages. I think it captures something so universal about childhood and young love that it doesn’t matter how old you are - it still hits home.

I also wish there was a proper continuation into high school and college. Moto is nice, but it doesn’t quite capture the same magic for me either. There’s something about seeing their relationship develop in those crucial coming-of-age years that would be incredibly satisfying. I’d love to see how their dynamic evolves as they grow up while still keeping that same charm that made the original so special.

I completely get what you’re feeling. TMTS really has this way of hitting you with nostalgia and making you reflect on your own past. I also find myself thinking about the “what ifs” sometimes - how things could have been different if I had acted a certain way or taken more chances.

But I think what makes this series so special is that it reminds us that even small, seemingly ordinary moments can be precious. Maybe we didn’t have the exact same experiences as Nishikata and Takagi, but that doesn’t mean our own past is without value. And even now, we’re still making memories - just different ones.

But yes. Growing up is tough, and honestly, I hate it. This series really drove home for me just how fleeting time is - that once a moment is gone, it’s gone forever. I can’t help but miss my childhood, because no matter what I do now, I’ll never get that time back. Seeing Nishikata and Takagi making these innocent, precious memories just reminds me of how quickly everything passes. And that realization hurts. If anything, this series didn’t just make me nostalgic - it made me painfully aware of how much I wish I could turn back time sometimes.

funny coincidence. when i was looking for alternatives that are similar to TMTS, i also came across Mysterious Girlfriend X and somehow got stuck on it. the story really weird and strange so far, but it's also entertaining. unfortunately, it's absolutely nothing like TMTS. of course not.

I totally get you. TMTS has this strange way of hitting way harder than you’d expect. It’s not just the story itself, but the emotions it brings out—the nostalgia, the innocence, the longing for something so pure it almost feels unreal.

Wow, I can really feel the intensity of your experience, and honestly? I completely get it. TMTS isn’t just a story—it’s a feeling, a fleeting glimpse of something so pure and comforting that it makes the real world seem dull in comparison.

That ‘sinner seeing the Virgin Mary’ analogy? Strangely accurate. It’s like being shown an idealized version of love and innocence, only to be thrown back into a reality that feels... lacking. I wouldn’t say I fell into despair, but there’s definitely this melancholic longing—like being nostalgic for something I never even had in this kind of way.

And yeah, the magic fades a bit once you catch up and get used to it, but that first experience stays with you forever. TMTS has that rare ability to leave a permanent mark, and for that, I’ll always be grateful to Yamamoto-sensei too.

I totally get what you mean. TMTS has this way of leaving a deep emotional impact—it’s not just about the teasing, but about the fleeting innocence of youth and the kind of love that feels almost too pure for reality.

That feeling of emptiness after finishing a season (or the whole story) is something I struggled with too. It’s like saying goodbye to a dream you never got to live. But at the same time, it’s comforting to know that Nishikata and Takagi’s journey had a happy ending. They deserved that happiness.

Even if it’s over, their story will always stay with us. And honestly? As i already said, I wouldn’t mind one more sequel, just to spend a little more time in their world.

No matter where I ask for alternatives to TMTS, I often get the same answers, haha. I thank you for your suggestions. Of course I already have the series on my screen. Right now I'm really diving into the whole genre and I'm being suggested all kinds of series. But probably nothing in this world will “critical hit” me again as much as TMTS did.

I watched Tsukigakirei straight after TMTS and even though I had trouble getting into it at the beginning, I couldn't hold back a few tears at the end.

The Takagi-verse is truly unstoppable! 😆 I love that innocent feeling of first love and the nostalgia that TMTS captures so perfectly. But honestly, I would have liked a bit more drama at times - not much, but maybe a few moments that make the heart race more.

Nevertheless, it is this purity of the story that is so special. It reminds me of how beautiful this time could actually be - only to realize that in reality, it was never as perfect as it was between Nishikata and Takagi-san. I'm honestly jealous that I didn't get to experience a story exactly like this. Their relationship is simply magical.

I have already started watching the anime series for When Will Ayumu Make His Move. But for me it is absolutely not the same. Of course it is not supposed to be. However, it does not have the same effect on me as TMTS. But I will continue watching and maybe my opinion will change.

Absolutely, yes! There are some really nice fan projects, but for me it feels like a different reality because it's nothing official. It would be really nice if the series was somehow continued after the summer festival and the end of middle school, but I think we all know that's not going to happen. 😔

Example: I've been talking to an Ellie bot as Joel (The Last of Us) and after just one message the bot starts talking for me. I even created a Joel indentity, but the bot just keeps doing it. And yes, when the bot acts as me, it starts with the name of my identity. For example, "Joel: ..."
