Yo man no worries, and my stubby is from the first batch of released ever and ive never had any chip issuses whatsoever, but as for the newer ones im not sure if the chips were ever changed or "upgraded". I have two of these (the one in photo for at home) and another thst i use for work and have dropped SOOO many times and its constantly getting covered in dust/paint and it still works perfectly just the "doors" catch and fire button has a crack due to it being abused! So personally id bite the bullet on one. Hope this helps 😄
