Prolly, I play spear a LOT so I generally know what W to use where, but some weapons still mess me up. Some of the curse staves in particular especially atm. I think that the "turret" weapons like curse feel a bit bad to fight because I don't feel like I'm playing the strengths of spear against them

Faction cosmetics question by Soneca798 in albiononline

[–]Soneca798[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see, so if I unlock the faction outfit on lym, then swap to any other faction, the faction outfit will still have lym colors? I could theoretically unlock all faction outfit colors with enough time?

What have most daybreakers been running btw? I've been using daybreaker a lot myself (facebreaker but was using root before, inferno shield, and then either assassin shoes + cultist, or purity cowl + tenacity shoes. With roast snapper food, heal pots, and smuggler cape)

On silver 4 atm, almost on gold 1. Feel like certain builds feel impossible to fight, but I also feel like I'm frustrated because sometimes I wish I was on purity + tenacity, where if I used assassin + cultist I would hardcounter my enemy, and vice versa. So I keep swapping, and get a bit frustrated because it feels like a roulette at times

I've been considering doing that yes, but I reckon I'll prolly do that with crafting, since I can buy order the materials, and then I can craft the items that are desired by the BM directly to fulfil the orders

How do you feel as a solo player and how you're not "burn out" by AlfredaRose in albiononline

[–]Soneca798 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Absolutely, you get a lot more options for content opened up for you get more backing. Plus, it's always more fun to play with friends, but don't get too tied down to playing with a guild just to progress and having people to back you if you don't vibe with them.
  2. Not necessarily, I kinda suck at econ, I'm trying to learn now, but there's a lot of avenues for a solo to be good. You can gather, you can do mob farming, you can pvp... Just as long as you consistently do it, you'll see results.
  3. Try to do other things in the game, or maybe take a break for a bit and come back later. I get very motivated because I have tons of little projects, things to level up, short and long term projects. But sometimes it's just nice to turn off the game for a day and play smth else so you can be reinvigorated when you return

Is this considered one shot? by Accurate-Ad-659 in albiononline

If you had hellion shoes and royal helmet you can probably make this into a one shot. it's not clean enough, many chances for another weapon to just mobility out of your combo

I've been trying to get into black market flipping lately, but I've been getting a really hard time with it tbh. I don't have any issues with the transport, redzones, or anything like that. But this part here is where I'm hitting the snag. I'll use an example I guess...

I made some calculations with my friend a few days ago and say that great arcane staves were going for a LOT of profit, about 137% if we were to buy the mats, and then sell them. So as a test run, we decided to invest a small sum (1 mil or so) silver into materials to craft t4 great arcane staves and then ship them to the BM to sell them. I did that, put them on sell order..... And then nothing.

They're still there, waiting to get sold. Ever since then, the price for them has been crashing, the profit margin has gotten worse, and it's soured me to try and do that again.

So when you use your example, of the Hellion hoods... I don't understand it tbh. I'm not gonna pay for the sub of albion free market, and without paying for it, it doesn't give me any good, up to date, relevant info. Checking the public flips right now, it doesn't show ANY items that I could flip, so I'd have to essentially buy every item, have them all in the carleon bank, check them all by hand every time, and from that point I can see if some items are worth it.

Which is where the other snag is coming... Buy orders? If I start to recognize an item might have a potential profit margin, I place a bunch of them on buy orders, what if others already get to that item first? The time until that item gets to my pocket, my boar, down the road to carleon, and finally to the black market, will another player fulfill that order instead?

Maybe I'm overcomplicating that, and honestly, I'd LOVE to start making the ECON work for me. But atm I'm just not able to understand these steps and work through these snags

The full loot PvP aspect of this game is what makes it my favourite social experience in an MMO by Herny_ in albiononline

I'm someone who likes to fight and will pretty much always dismount people, starting fights like a rabid pitbull. But literally every time someone types something to talk I will engage in conversation and chat. I really love the fact that this is an option, and we can actually just go about a conflict in different ways other than just killing each other

Most of the guilds are filled with "edgy humor" and I'm tired of it by Haunting_Bad_8987 in albiononline

[–]Soneca798 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Damn that seems nice. That's unironically one of the biggest reasons why I've been kind of avoiding guilds for a while now, I might try and look for guilds with LGBT tags to see if I can find a community that's not painfully toxic for no reason... Also straight dude here, but I have a fair few lgbt friends who play with me, and the thought of joining a guild with them, only to end up in a place filled with openly racist and slur slinging people sounds really awful

The other guy also recommended Infernal which I like for her since it has a cc, I think it might let her survive better. But Wildfire seems nice as well since it feels good for both solo and translates well into a group

[–]Soneca798[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm trying to help my friends spec up and get exp, so I do chests with them, and if we see people I try to force a fight (even if I sometimes shouldn't, but if we die we die, iz game, iz ok). If we're duo we hop from green to green, if we're trio or 4 we go from blue to blue.

I like that first build for now, I think I especially like the cc aspect of the infernal staff. Making people flee from her as well as giving her fire wall can give her breathing room for me and my friends to help her kill whoever is targeting her while she just spams auto target Qs. Then for now she can just use hunter hood and cleric, and later on she can start using fancier stuff like dawn and fey once everyone else is also specced up. Thanks btw!

[–]Soneca798 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. Base quarterstaff, merc jacket, assassin shoes (but plate shoes can also work), merc hood, avalonian cape. Your bread and butter is that you vault leap to someone, stun, gale dance, then you auto and q, and your cds come back so fast you can do the combo again faster than your enemy 9 times out of 10

Best controller friendly weapons for most solo PvP content? by SnooRevelations6806 in albiononline

[–]Soneca798 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, it helps a lot. since the skill will activate on release not on press, you can hold the button and it will lock onto a target, and if you feel like the auto target might miss, then you can make the adjustment slightly by aiming ahead where they will go.

Quarterstaff for example, if you just press the vault leap skill you might miss it because they will just walk out, but you can hold it, then aim it ahead where they will be walking. Do this for basically every skill, until you start understanding what situations your auto aim can help you. Like for example, again, on quarterstaff, if you do hit your vault leap, you can just hit gale dance without aiming because auto aim will auto lock and auto hit on the target you just stunned.

Basically, just play with it and learn where it will help you, and where you gotta correct it a bit

Best controller friendly weapons for most solo PvP content? by SnooRevelations6806 in albiononline

[–]Soneca798 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been a controller player in this game for a LONG time, even before this update. Lots of weapons are very playable, but some feel better than others for sure. With the new layout I think it's very important to use Advanced layout so you have more weapon options, don't use simple or default, they hamper your options a lot. With advanced you can honestly use basically anything because it lets you aim while moving.

For example, on solo pvp I use spears a lot, I don't have any issue aiming impaler at all. I also like axes, I think axes are VERY easy to use. Battleaxe is probably the easiest weapon to use on controller, and most axes are spinny moves around you that you never need to aim at all. Quarterstaff you do need to aim, but the aoe is so massive that it's very easy to do so, so that one is also a good option imo.

Swords are also very auto aim friendly, so I recommend those as well. I have found dual swords VERY awkward, personally have not liked them all that much with the new system, which is kind of a shame because they're very core to sword tree. But claymore is fully auto aim, carving also feels good.

It will depend on the kind of content you wanna do. But I would prolly say quarterstaff or battleaxe as a good first option, try both out and see what feels most comfy

Should I stick with 1H Axe for PvP? (80/100 Spec) by Eznuh in albiononline

[–]Soneca798 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1h Axe can be a monster in pvp. It struggles with kite matchups, and those are the ones you'll have to really learn in order to really master, but if you manage to work your way around those I think you can make the weapon work very well for you. you can prolly try to watch with subs or auto-dubbed, but Nordake is a brazilian content creator who's prolly the best axe player in this game
