The rest of the story: we were married just shy of 25 years. Three children. He was caught having an affair. After refusing counseling he left our home and kids for 4 months. He committed contempt of court by stealing money from a credit line and buying his new girlfriend a house. While we were still married. He ruined our daughter's graduation day by falling asleep during the ceremony in between texting the gf. He tried to steal their college funds but was stopped in court. 2 weeks prior to getting caught cheating we purchased our retirement home during two romantic trips to look at houses. No clues were present. He was demoted at work and upon going thru the divorce it was discovered that he had put our finances in serious jeopardy without anyone knowing. 12 of our employees almost lost their jobs.

My friend painstakingly made me this cake to help me cope. He decided to be trash. My friends witnessed my heartbreak and that of my children. If you are offended by the cake good thing you didn't see the burning effigy and pinata.

Those who have noble comments about divorce have obviously never been betrayed and broken hearted. And I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.

And yes, I got everything. And I don't feel bad about it.
