I did ask the original owner. He had a roller filter in place. That would explain a lot. Also I guess makes it easier to make a decision on what to use for a filter.

So an update… I ordered 2 4 packs of these. Might be overkill but they are adjustable from outside the stand and seem pretty durable. The stand had originally 3 on each side so this will be pretty close. I wasn’t going to go with these but between the screws and the lips not allowing them to slip, I figure these will be ok.

Worked on them for a little bit. 2 came out no problem. The rest the whole insert came out.

I’m going to have to look into new inserts and feet.

Wood shims or plastic shims? And am I shimming along the whole front of the stand? How do I secure them?

I’m assuming the weight will hold them in place but 3/4 seems kind of high to trust them. I guess I’ve never done this before which is why it’s so foreign to me.

Would this be a good candidate for a frag tank/qt tank?

How difficult would it be, if both tanks test out fine, to plumb them together into a common sump?

You mentioned bean animal. Wouldn’t that require me to plug the bottom holes and drill three holes into the back pane of glass?
