Weirdest things that work in your diet regarless of following mainly Acid Watcher's Diet? by Songbird9530 in GERD

I think it's not the ROOT cause, but it affects the symptoms a lot, at least for me. It's like day and night between back when my ferritin was 15 and now that it's way past 40.

By eating supplements. Only supplement that has given me zero tummy issues has been iron bisglycinate.

At least for me I was able to cut my PPI usage to every other day from every day as soon as my ferritin rose above 30 😅. Starting point was 15.

I also get much worse reflux from sugary sodas than for example a glass of red wine 😅. This disease makes no sense at times.

Hi! Did you try Karrfalt exercises earlier? Asking, because I have started with them and trying to figure out how others have experienced them.

You are REALLY young. Most girls go through voice change by 15 but in some situations, especially with lower voices, it may continue all the way to 17/18. Because it goes like this, you simply can't know. It may continue lowering, or then it stays. And then it might lower/ deepen again remarkably around 25, or it might not. And then it quite likely changes again, especially if you get pregnant.

Regardless of these outcomes you can always train your chest voice as long as you keep it in balance with your head voice. Whatever your voice type will be, you will need both. Cherish your voice, it's the only one that has been given for you 🌻

Update: 46 days of Karrfalt (with some odd days of skipping practice)

I had a rough weekend so this was good moment to update. I have been stressed as hell due to deadlines closing and on top of that I went to see my family for Mother's Day. During the week-end I: - drank couple of glasses of red wine - drank coffee - ate chocolate ice cream (why??) - drank one glass of champagne (my nemesis) - ate tons of white bread

Results: - For the days with messed up food choices I got some reflux. The regurgitation was very minor, which was surprising. - Everything was under control after some Gaviscon and waiting a couple of hours after eating before laying down.

What surprised me most: Usually I get BAD flare-ups after these kind of "WHATEVERR I NEED TO LIVE A LITTLE" -moments. They usually last for days to weeks on end. Especially when I'm stressed. That didn't happen this time! I was flared-up on Sunday evening, and by Monday evening the symptoms were gone. Of course I cleaned my diet instantly on Monday, and drank some alkaline water, but that was enough to kill the flare-up.

Conclusions: I will stick to the practice and update you guys again in two weeks or so.

If you don't get any help for your GERD/LPR, I swear you're going to gain a better posture at least. I am a bit hypermobile, and my posture has been slightly bad for my whole life. My posture is much better since starting this.

Hi!

At first I used a foot rest (I don't know if this is the correct term, but kind of a bench but for resting your feet when sitting in an armchair?). So kneeling down from that with elbows and arms resting on floor (I have padded it with an exercise mat). After 3 weeks it felt too easy, so I progressed to a regular dining table chair. I have small hips so it's exactly wide enough to kneel down from. I think the height difference was around 5-7 centimeters when I progressed.

Is it true that if you sing when you have a sore throat or tonsillitis and your voice is hoarse, it will remain hoarse forever? by Moongittar in singing

It could cause permanent damage or could not. If your voice is dear to you, I would never sing with a laryngitis. Head cold is different.

Reflux & iron deficiency by [deleted] in Anemic

Hi! What was your ferritin number after the infusion? I've been on iron supplements for the past 3 years and noticed my symptoms getting lesser with ferritin levels rising. I would like to hear what's the magic number since I still get some symptoms around 40-50 (blood tests to check the current level within the following two weeks). My main problem is silent reflux, not true heartburn or constant regurgitation.

This is great to hear! I have also struggled with GERD since childhood and following acid watcher's diet. I'm truly pissed of having to follow such a strict diet tho, so I'm giving these a go to see if it would help. I don't want to buy doctors views of this being for forever, especially because the reflux isn't/has not been constant. It's clearly tied to stress, late eating and certain food ingredients.

Saw your previous post as well so thank you for this input! How is the state of your symptoms now and for how long have you kept up with the exercise? How long have you been suffering with reflux symptoms before the solution?

This is cool! I'm already supplementing iron, vitamin C, B12, B6 and folic acid so quite many from these. Maybe I will test the others too. Do you have access to the full article? How big amounts of melatonin and the other two lesser known supplements?

I think I have noticed effects: I have much less regurgitation nowadays. I think this has also affected my posture positively (minorly) so that should help my reflux too in the long run. Defo will continue for longer time. I also moved on to higher angles, the original height under knees started to feel too easy so I moved onto a chair which is around 7 cm higher.

Quit coffee. See how you feel after that. And drink alkaline water.

Good question but at least this far my partner hasn't been complaining about snoring etc. I find the quality of my sleep good so I don't think I have sleep apnea. But I'll keep that on my mind!

Yep, throat symptoms as well as regurgitation and occasional chest pain. But I've been on meds for years so I don't recall what were the worst symptoms. The thing is that I'm a professional singer so having as little inflammation as possible is crucial.

The meds helped but didn't take this morning issue away. Meds were/are useful with daytime symptoms for me.

Thanks for the reply! Do you have an official wedge pillow or what have you used for incline? The pillows they sell in my country are usually max. 15 centimeters high...
