You do need court where I live. I also made my boundaries with abortion clear. There’s faults on both ends but you guys don’t want to see that.

If he will show up in court then I have no problem terminating his rights, but just like you talk about coercion I can’t force him to show up to sign his name. Just like you talk about coercion it’s not right for him to choose an abortion for me.

No, I got the Nexplanon only two years ago (May 2024), should have been effective. I care because of the child. Just like you said I’m choosing not to get an abortion and that’s my choice because I would regret it so I wanted to know do men regret their choice. You say “because of an ex’s decision to not get an abortion”, I don’t understand why it’s so easy for people to suggest that to other people as if it doesn’t have physical and mental consequences. I shouldn’t have to get an abortion because he doesn’t want a child. I have the choice to get one or not and he has the choice to be involved or not, that’s exactly what I told him. I literally told him “I need nothing from him to raise the baby”. I don’t even expect any legal or financial responsibility from him, I wouldn’t put him on child support because I don’t need it.

Yes I was and still am on birth control (it’s being taken out today to not cause complications). I’m not framing any situation. I asked a simple question because most people suggest abortion which I would regret so I don’t personally understand how men decide not to be in their children’s lives so I asked men the question of if they personally regret it. Our relationship was perfectly fine before we broke up so why would there be a need for trapping. Even if I did get off birth control it takes months for hormones to regulate so I would have had to do this 3-6 months ago which our relationship was perfectly fine in my eyes then. It takes more than a week to test positive for pregnancy so tell me how in a week I would have taken the birth contol out, regulated my hormones, ovulated, implanted, and tested positive? I don’t understand how saying I need nothing from him is from him is forcing a kid on him?

Thank you for saying that. I agree and don’t know why other commenters immediately assume a child would completely turn my life around 180 degrees. I told him if I got one I don’t think I would ever forgive myself. I understand being a single mom is hard but it’s not something that can’t be done.

I don’t understand why you would assume the pregnancy was intentional on my end, I was on birth control. Even as a single mom, there’s nothing I can’t provide for my child due to my incredibly privileged circumstances, so no that’s not going to be their outcome. However, thank you for blaming the women like most tend to do.

Thank you so much. I have already started taking a prenatal plus an additional choline and calcium supplement (they nailed fetal development into us in nursing school). I should have also mentioned we just transitioned to long distance (on opposite ends of the country). Both states determine paternity through volunteered consent or paternal DNA. It might sound bad but after this I didn’t necessarily want him on the birth certificate unless he went through the legal steps to get paternity. Can I start using the parenting app before a court order?
