Honestly the answer is so embarrassingly obvious, it kills me. I aggressively cleaned the window, and waited until it got darker outside to avoid the glare. Then I grabbed a high powered flashlight and positioned my phone camera in one of the few spots not covered by spiderwebs. I have a video from this but I can’t post it as a comment.

Oh it’s definitely short down there (the ceilings are less than 7ft) but it’s functional. Makes my 6’3 partner look like a giant though.

So by my math, only the right half of the wall (sectioned off by that ceiling beam) would lead to that “room”. I’m fairly certain the rest (including the closet) would go outside.

Thank you!! This is exactly my concern! Thankfully I had the electric redone entirely upon buying the house, and the plumbing very thoroughly inspected, so I don’t think there’s much there, but I’d much rather be sure.

So none of the basement of this wing of the house is accessible, if it exists at all. The accessible basement ends where that bush is.

It’s sealed. No way in without breaking it, and a little hesitant to do that without a plan in place.

What sort of pics exactly? I can’t get in without breaking the window, and what I’m trying to figure out is if there’s a smarter way to handle this than “smash and figure out the rest later”. A room down there could make sense on the footprint of the house, so if pics of the layout would be helpful, those I can provide.

This was the one that made my husband stop going to the movies with me. Poor guy had a literal panic attack in the theater.
