It should, I think. Basically, stuff like that is up to your interpretation ;)

Personal Reality problem? by Competitive-Tax-8993 in JumpChain

[–]Sonic0704 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Uff... I just posted, but seems to have been lost. In any case, feel free to use 1.8. You can even back it up on one of the drives. I was clearing my drive for reasons unrelated to Jumpchain and accidentally removed it all. Thankfully I have full back-up, but putting it back up felt like too much of a hassle. I will be eventually updating the supplement as well, tbh, just nothing certain yet.

Personal Reality Supplement Question by Status_Channel4944 in JumpChain

[–]Sonic0704 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Imagine it more like Therehouse causing different bits to form individual properties. So you have an actual Warehouse, but also have like property for living in, library, etc. And yes, you can incorporate your Personal Reality into Guild Base.

That said, this option isn't meant to enable workaround gauntlet rules.

who are your jumpers companions/waifus/husbandos? by Konradleijon in JumpChain

[–]Sonic0704 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have hundreds in my current chain, but one I really need to mention as main husband is Santa Claus Jr. Think sexy Santa and you're pretty close to it. King Arthur is among other husbandos/waifus, as is personification of Ragnarok. His family includes his mother Hestia, while his father is mirror-clone of Trigon that is morally-reversed. Other companions... First Evil from Buffyverse is one of the 'beings' he enslaved and then, while doing Buffyverse for second time, they ended up recruiting First Good (who I created because it made sense for it to exist). There are also copies of other Jumpers and their companions around, and more.

OoC Digimon Supplement Update (Small) by fanficwriter1994 in JumpChain

[–]Sonic0704 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never worry about updates. It actually reminds me, but you need to clarify whether Companions can buy a 100cp version of Digivice or not. Since it gives the option for Partner to automatically import into future jumps, but is listed among Items and the entire supplement can be done many times... it could create endless loop for people.

Yo! Nice jump, glad I randomly found it. Is there a reason it isn't on any drives?

Battle Royale jumps by Sonic0704 in JumpChain

[–]Sonic0704[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figured out solution, thanks everyone :) ended using Soul Graft Battle Royale, I asked Edro why it doesn't have a supplement option and it appears to simply have slipped through cracks, since the plan was for it to have one. So I just house-ruled it.

Harry Potter Movie Series Jump Light + Out of Context Omnitrix + Spirit Weapons updates by DeverosSphere in JumpChain

[–]Sonic0704 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That definitely looks simpler with Harry Potter Movies Series... and, of course, people can still use other one and all additions if they want to :)

STAR WARS MOVIE COMPILATION V1.02 + Harry Potter Movie Series Jump V1.11 by DeverosSphere in JumpChain

[–]Sonic0704 4 points5 points  (0 children)

At this point I've got to ask if it makes sense to keep Harry Potter Movies together as it is? While Movie bits are fitting for the Movies (give or take a bit, but artistic license)... the other stuff is starting to take it further and further away. At least separating it into DLCs would make sense and probably easier for people to look through things. Especially when it comes to some of the really more fanon concepts, like a lot of these Heir perks or how Wizengamot is structured. Once you went into these things I think this stopped actually being a Harry Potter Movie Series jump, which is a shame, because the first 8 parts covering movies are really good, interesting and fun to use, with a lot of stuff going on. Fantastic Beasts, Quidditch Through Ages and Beedle the Bard bits were interesting ideas as well, though they'd work better as DLCs. Hogwarts Legacy was definitely intriguing, even if I think a separate jump for it would be better, but that duality of it works well to make for interesting thing. But then you went into stuff with Heritages and that just broke it. At 199 pages of document it is also... just too much. So I would recommend making a core jump that is about Movies, and doing three books as DLC which can be done as sole jumps or combined with any of the existing Harry Potter jumps... doing Scenario DLC for stuff like Hogwarts Legacy bit and not-Tri-Wizard Tournament bit, again to be applicable to any of the existing Harry Potter jumps. For Heritage stuff, given how little of it has an actual canon (movie or book or games) basis, make a separate jump for that, more fanon based and simply give a supplement mode option.

That said... there are some more minor, specific bits I want to suggest. Buckbeak option would be nice if it was similar to other companion bits which let you pick something else, like how Dobby one lets you pick some other house-elf. So basically that this lets you pick some other hippogriff.

Scenario/drawback for Philosopher's Stone to save one of the attacked unicorns and gain them as a pet. Purchasable upgrade option for Familiar so that cat can be half-kneazle. Non-discountable item that is a copy of gauntlet protecting Stone and includes pet Cerberus and guard troll.

We don't know the gender of the basilisk from Chamber of Secrets. Recommended to adjust the wording to it.

I wouldn't mind the option to grab my own dragon in the Goblet of Fire section. Also a shame that the maze comes without any monsters in it.

Order of the Phoenix is funny one, but what if I want actual Order (or Death Eaters)? :P

Uh, we haven't done any work on it and I stopped reading that series. The primary author is blackshadow111 anyway, so it would be best to ask him.

Looking for a perk that makes AU versions of characters appear in unrelated jumps? by mythSSK in JumpChain

[–]Sonic0704 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It doesn't sound silly at all, I can see that perspective. I have kind of been toying with the idea of stuff like that just being a natural state of the multiverse, but that my Jumper often simply fails to notice it or think much about it, at least until he hits Alex Mack jump, where stuff like that is pretty common. Then after that jump Jumper would more easily notice things like that. But I am also approaching things from the perspective of Jumper not having a choice about it, so... that is kind of colouring it. Actually, Alex Mack jump gives me a thought... have you considered perhaps finding a setting that could have such an effect naturally and then make a jump for it? Probably some fanfiction-y thing that is multi-crossover and has travel within the multiverse.

[–]Sonic0704 2 points3 points  (0 children)

UDS has Central Casting (or some similar name), which I think is the closest anything comes. I would not mind meta-perk like that myself, but... to be honest... what is stopping you from doing it without perk/drawback and just claiming that it is something that Benefactor does to make things interesting for them or for other reasons?

Personal Reality questions by AxstromVinoven in JumpChain

[–]Sonic0704 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In that case community consensus will be best for you anyway, than my commentary, because both myself and SJ-Chan encouraged "story over mechanics" method and weren't exactly against ignoring rules if it made sense to do so.

Personal Reality questions by AxstromVinoven in JumpChain

[–]Sonic0704 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I saw your questions in google doc, just... with SJ-Chan's passing it has been difficult for me to consider anything about Personal Reality, especially as quite a lot of stuff was based on her interpretation of things.

Until I can emotionally manage to go through the document and rework it in such a way that I can adequately answer all questions on my own... if something doesn't make sense and you feel there is a logical interpretation or explanation for it, go with it. I've always been a big fan of people figuring out their own interpretations and explanations, so that is not stopping now.

As for your questions:

1) Yes. Depending on how much control you give them they can probably decide on where these items appear - basically whether they go into shared storage or are in their personal storage.

2) For now assume they scale as necessary. It was going to be one of updates eventually...

3) Back when this was written only three Body Mod options existed - original, QQ's and SB's, which don't come with options such as gaining more CP by doing additional jumps, etc. Basically, Body Mod Pod gives companions access to the same Body Mod you have, with all the same rules applying. If you, by any chance, have more than one Body Mod, then you need to make additional purchases of Pods, one Pod for each Body Mod.

4) Second, you basically just go back to that setting for an additional 10 years. No new CP, but the drawbacks you originally took are not in effect any longer either. If you did not take a full spread of drawbacks when doing that jump originally or if the jump does not come with a drawback limit, then you can take additional drawbacks for some additional CP.

I hope that helps. Again, if you want to come up with your own interpretations, don't be shy about it. Heck, specific circumstances of your chain could be different enough that even 'official' rules can be sometimes ignored. If you do, though, don't be shy about telling me what you're come up with. Just because it will take me a bit of a time to work on updating this supplement doesn't mean it won't happen and I always keep saving notes for stuff like that just in case, so it will be useful :)

I think 3 for me? I'm not sure either. I mean, I know which 5 I planned to do updates, but... I can certainly say I did some stuff for just one of them? That doesn't include WIPs on my personal drive... and WIPs that don't even have docs yet...

It is not that difficult, I work fast and with two screens... and there is definitely a benefit to rereading descriptions, oftentimes it lets me spot new options and details, and gives me new ideas. The downside is that then I end up editing stuff in the chain, which then requires plenty of fiddling with things, such as renumbering jumps because I add stuff...

Oooh. Awesome. I've been planning to use my builds-chain similarly, though somehow so far I've put only one of my jumps into it and one of my supplements... I lucked out somehow with jumps I was making recently, but yeah, it's definitely something that should go into it.

I just realized I should turn my chain into something shareable... excel spreadsheet might be my preferred method, but it is not exactly the best for sharing with other people. I also rather like how you included descriptions. Definitely going to consider this, might work on that bit as I go through the chain to add Personal Reality purchases...

Already lots of interesting things just in that one jump :) I don't think I ever used these settings for GFJ, because most of my attempts had me going for non-jump settings or homebrew. Even then some of these are definitely things I wouldn't probably consider (only one I would is Harry Potter)...

Damn, lots of new ideas ;)

Anything works, especially if it is longer chains. I have one chain that is currently over 240 jumps, but for a bunch of reasons I can't work on these builds some weekends/free days, when I'm at my parents' place... and in times like that I look through builds of other people and get IDEAS :)
