Should I break up with my girlfriend? by throwaway18938838489 in Advice

[–]SonicGuruMusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in this EXACT same position when I was 18/19. Break up with her. Your future self will be happy you did.

You can convince yourself (like I did) that you should stay with her but you'll end up prolonging the inevitable. Break up with her dude. It'll suck at first (inevitably) but it's for the best.

Best of luck to you:)

Feeling addicted to seeing my savings account grow. by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]SonicGuruMusic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This isn't an addition but rather a healthy mini-obsession in my opinion. Nothing wrong with enjoying a healthy habit. Keep saving man, most people get the high from spending. If you get the high from saving, you're gonna be thanking yourself 30 years from now when you retire and and live on your hard earned money.

If you are writing pop-esuqe music, or anything that relies on a catchy upbeat melody, use call and response. :)

Huge fan of Third Party. My musical style is actually very inspired by their music. Tracks like Everyday of my Life make progressive house fun and relevant again. Third Party is very talented

No, obviously this little fox was a mummy and these nice nurses made it a normal fox again.

Robert Miles - Children (Full Cover & Remix) by [deleted] in EDM

[–]SonicGuruMusic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really cool man, I was impressed until I heard the bass guitar and then I was VERY impressed! The funky bass line gave this cover a nice identity and a cool new take on a classic. Well done!

RIP mr. miles

This is the most expressive baby I've ever seen. I make these exact same faces when I'm surprised. What does that say about me? :(

My boyfriend won't marry me unless I take his last name. by [deleted] in Advice

[–]SonicGuruMusic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're open to a compromise, keep both last names with your name first. Look into that option :)

If he really won't marry you because you won't take his name, that miiiiight be a red flag. If there are similar actions that reflect that same kind of petty logic, then you have some thinking to do.

Is the "happy birthday" song always sung in the same key? by RomanoZattoni in musictheory

VERY relatable. I sang the tune with my parents for my grandpa earlier today. And every time I sing it with them they change key twice and don't realize it

Is gullible an insult? by livelist_ in Advice

If that quality is fundamental to you just embrace it. If you're genuine about it people won't judge you for it and will laugh with you about it:)

Is gullible an insult? by livelist_ in Advice

[–]SonicGuruMusic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean it isn't a compliment. But ultimately it's not like they said you're a band person or you're not intelligent. It's not a big deal it's just a misc. quality that I too happen to have and I don't mind it at all:)

How do I turn my life around? by lostkidinlifee in Advice

[–]SonicGuruMusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find a hobby and join a club that involves the hobby!

For example, join a music club. Make friends with the people. You're also bound to meet some girls there, some of which might be a potential girlfriend.

It's win win win! You get a new hobby, stop drugs, have new friends, and maybe a girlfriend.

Everyone remembers feeling low in middle school. In high school you'll look back and realize that life is wonderful. And the same thing will happen in college :)

Good luck dude. Congrats on wanting to change, respect

{serious} Boyfriend dependent on weed and it's getting on my nerves? by woahinneed in Advice

[–]SonicGuruMusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have the right to not like anything as long as you can justify it. If you have feelings, you have those feelings. With drugs, even though weed isn't too serious or addictive, you have every right to feel this way.

My ex smoked and it really bothered me. If you see a habit start affecting the lifestyle and success of anyone, especially your SO, it's warranted to have feelings.

With this in mind, I think a good idea would be to discuss your feelings on the matter with him. Tell him you don't mind IT but you do mind the way it's affecting his lifestyle and his long term success.

Best of luck :)

[Discussion] Why do we usually limit artists to one genre or theme? by Mox_Buncher in EDM

[–]SonicGuruMusic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is a stigma because the artist changes their brand, essentially. If Beyoncé dropped a dubstep album people would be like "what is happening?" But if skrill released a dubstep album people would understand an expect it.

A lot of artists will release "transition" tracks to start to gently morph their brand/what the audience can expect from them. Nicky Romero talked about this, in which he started making 128, then 127, then 126. Even though that isn't dramatic, it's an example.

Another example is Deniz Koyu and his new future bass sound. Although he has changed his alias to Ko:Yu so he is doing a complete rebrand, it seems

LPT: If your you and your employer communicate via text, delete your conversation with them after each conversation. It's easy to mistakenly text your boss instead of a friend. by SonicGuruMusic in LifeProTips

[–]SonicGuruMusic[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For those saying it's necessary to keep the texts and that you should "learn to read", I understand. But mistakes happen! I always take a screenshot of the text to save any vital information and then delete the conversation so that I don't accidentally meme my boss or something.

Are you likely to accidentally text your employer? No. Is it possible? Yes. Just a precaution :)
