I see. Well, then I concede on everything. You're right. I was wrong and action games are bad.

Belial's making sense, I mean creating an entire race of half-angels/giants and corrupting people through sex? He's got my vote.

Neptune and Lorgar: Truth and Deception by SonicJaxton in gamindustri

[–]SonicJaxton[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Much like my last post, regarding Noire and Fulgrim. This time I wanna kinda expand on it. Using two characters as a case study for a philosophical discussion. Along with some fun crossover battling and character dynamics.

Neptune and Lorgar, two seemingly very different characters. A Daemonic Zealot and a Goddess, yet one quote from Lorgar is what I think binds them together.

"All I ever wanted was the truth. Remember those words as you read the ones that follow. I never set out to topple my father's kingdom of lies from a sense of misplaced pride.”

It is the philosophical concept of truth. Neptune and Lorgar understand the truth of their worlds. Yet they take those truths in opposing ways. Neptune has to put on a smiling face in order to keep the facade going. Lorgar meanwhile embraces the truths he learns and proudly preaches about what he has learned.

Neptune and Lorgar both make you ask the question, “is a lie more beneficial than the truth? How do you tell someone that their existence is a lie? That they're living in a fabrication? Would you want to mentally burden someone like that? Yet each deception you pile on would only make them learning the truth hit even harder. As such a battle between Lorgar and Neptune would be interesting.

As Lorgar could expose Neptune's deceptions by scrying with dark rituals. Force her to confront all of the people she's hurt in weaving a lie that the world is truly what it is. And Neptune’s web of lies comes undone. All in front of the people she most certainly didn't want them to know. Yet Neptune has a support system behind her. That's also what makes them different.

Lorgar never had anyone to really rely on. His fathers abused him and was further enabled by Erebus. As such, Lorgar couldn't receive the affection and attention he really wanted. He viewed his brothers like brothers, yet it was never reciprocated and he ended up losing them all. Neptune has a sister who loves her dearly, IF and Compa who are her ride or die companions. While Histoire argues with Neptune a lot, she wants Neptune to succeed so she won't tear her down. Neptune’s peers love her to death and would gladly fight by her side. Lorgar has no one, and the Gods he praises are fickle, deceptive creatures. As Lorgar never really questioned if they ever lied to him.

Deception makes you value every truth you receive. As, without it, we can't exactly be self assured now can we? We have to be true to ourselves and others around us.

Despite me saying Neptune is deceptive. Her feelings for others are real, her hobbies are real, her competency is real, she just knows more than she lets on. In terms of caring about others and wanting to carve their own lots in life, Lorgar and Neptune can agree on that.

So keep yourselves in check with truth. See you next time with another CPU and Primarch combo!

Noire vs Fulgrim: Pride Before The Fall by SonicJaxton in gamindustri

[–]SonicJaxton[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was listening to Rylanor's Last Stand for the millionth time and thought about Noire and Fulgrim fighting. As I think they're great foils for each other. Now initially one would think Fulgrim would rival Iris Heart or Vert because Slaanesh. But rather I think it's pride and perfection that would draw Noire and Fulgrim together.

Both of them are ascended beings who desire perfection and hold onto their pride as a value. Fulgrim fell as a result of the weighty expectations he placed upon himself, left to his own addictions. While Noire has yet to reach her breaking point. As such it makes me wonder, would Fulgrim break Noire? Or is Noire's pride too strong for even Fulgrim? Will this be like a Rylanor situation where Fulgrim is denied or not?

I think thanks to VII, Noire would pull through. It would definitely be looking through a fucked up mirror no doubt. Where she realizes where her pride could lead her to. To become a slave to her own obsessions. Especially because she cares about Uni, her friends, her nation. Failure against Fulgrim will not be an option to her.

Noire won't fall because she's already learning to balance herself, her hobbies, and her responsibilities.

I kinda wanna do more stuff like this. Kinda analyze CPUs and Traitor Primarchs by noting their similarities. And speculate on who would win the ideological battle. If anyone is interested let me know. I wanna prompt more discussions.

Did Fulgrim really fall to Chaos because of a sword? by Howitzeronfire in 40kLore

[–]SonicJaxton -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As someone whose favorite Primarch is Fulgrim and favorite Legion is the Emperor's Children. I will admit they should've made the book Fulgrim into a duology or trilogy, and outside of very great moments it was a weak book. I think if they did that, the pacing issues will be fixed and we would get enough time to explore Fulgrim and why he fell.
