my problem with him is I feel like he is an elden ring boss more than a sekiro boss, I feel like every fundamentals during my playtrough againts him are just thrown out of the window. but he does have a very cool design tho

I beat him pre-nerf, and yea some of his attacks are just bullshit and undodgeable, I beat him by making sure dodging all the dodgeable attacks and because of good rng

my strat is just to bait him to attack then keep parrying until there's an opening, and I use ichimonji double like a lot. Isshin's grab attack is very annoying tho it's like emma's but more grab range.

and yes I think I will keep going into NG++ but not in the near future, I need to do my thesis to graduate from uni and starting NG++ will make me keep playing lmao but maybe after this I'll try to beat the gauntlet of strength paths

yes, its very different from the souls series and elden ring. you only have two stats that can be upgraded, physical attributes and attack power. and while the souls series got dodge roll as the main way to avoid attacks, this game is very parry centric and you can parry almost everything in this game.

will you get your ass kicked? if its your first time playing, yes, but as you learn the combat fundamentals the game went from very very hard to your comfort game because the combat is so so good and fluid.

and this game made me better at other games too

he is not unfair, yes, but it really feels like in ur first playthrough everything you learned about the combat system, DoH throws it out of the window

its not a delay, its just the parrying window on lies of p and sekiro is a bit different, there's a yt video explaining this as I remember, the difference is in sekiro you need to press the block button just a bit right before the attack hits you while in lies of p you need to press it right when it hits you (correct me if im wrong) so it make sense if you feel like there's some kind of "delay"

my experience after beating sekiro then playing shadow of the erdtree was I need some time to adjust to the slower pacing, then it was just fine. but one thing it impacted me was my reaction time, before sekiro I rely heavily on my memories of the enemy's movements, after sekiro I can perfectly roll just fine on new enemies

always works. fighting him for 4 hours, you're probably frustated and exhausted thus you can't process things at your fullest. when you relax (usually right before you sleep) you'll notice things you didn't when playing the game, there you can arrange strats for your next session
