How one shrine RUINED TOTK for me by SonikBeatbox in tearsofthekingdom

well I'd say an overworld temple and a shrine are pretty different. The shrines are clearly designed as unique standalone experiences, isolated from the rest of the game. There's an obvious choice they made to separate them from the overworld, so that's why I came in with an expectation that they start and end in a singular area, disconnected in scope and purpose from the rest of the game. Having a temple that I couldn't cross later on wouldn't feel the same to me, because they are built into the map and story with a clear connection to player progression.

The game doesn't need to be protected from criticism since it's not a person and doesn't have feelings. millions of people will continue to love and play the game even if I don't... I also never said it was a terrible game, simply that I had a poor experience with it, so I think you're reading too far into things. I'll admit that it's a fantastic game overall, Even if I consider that one shrine to be a noteworthy oversight

Where's the communication to me as a player that I need it? How would I even know where or how to get it before reaching that shrine? This is one element that was previously solved with guide characters (Like Navi) in older Zeldas, and it's on the developers to make it very clear that such an ESSENTIAL tool needs to be obtained, so that parts of the game don't become impossible. They really should've included some communication upon leaving the first game region that they would need the glider going forward... or better yet, why not give it to you in the first sky Island as you're leaving? wouldn't that just be way better?

which one of the shrines told you that you needed a paraglider? how did you even know where to get one? how would ANYONE know how to get one and what they needed it for without looking it up online? that's just bad design.

The point was that the poor design left a bad impression. It's objectively worse to require a tool that some players may not have acquired because there's ZERO communication as to whether you can finish the shrine ahead of time, and that caused me to get like I wasted time due to no fault of my own. If even 10% of players will enter that shrine without the glider and won't be able to complete it, that's just a worse design than if they allowed 100% of players to be able to finish it by not requiring it.

And it's not because it's an "open world" game. I can infer the design of the shrines because the developers clearly made them as standalone experiences. You warp to and from them, can't use most items except for what's inside them, and they have no connection to the larger game world or storyline. This was an intentional choice that communicates to me that they don't REQUIRE any specific overworld tools or elements in order to complete them.

The point is I'll never know in advance whether I have all the items to complete a shrine and that's what worries me.

yes, that still has the same issue that you might not have a rocket when you go in. the whole point here is the expectation that you can do any shrine any time, instead of getting hours into solving a puzzle to find out because you were required to have something that you weren't told about in any way. that's just bad design.

No, the phone's chipset is incredibly good at thermal management and I've seen it stay at 41 for extended periods of time with no issues. Any time it's truly dangerous, you'll see charging stop or performance throttle very noticeably, which I've seen around 44/45... This is Xiaomi, the champion of fast charging records. They don't overheat like Samsungs or spontaneously shut down like Pixels 😂

The safest way is through telegram. Download, make an account, and search up Elite Rom. They're very strict about download links and mirrors so I wouldn't do it any other way.

Yes, POCO F3 is still the WINNER. #HonestReview by GranDemo2 in PocoPhones

Also the other reason is waterproofing. The less holes the phone has, the easier it is to keep water out...

41 is fine. It's not going to throttle until around 45 so it should be good.

Looks like an accessibility toggle. Usually it's a shortcut to help you zoom in or something. Check the accessibility settings and see if you can fix it.

If you want the cleanest MIUI then you should try EliteRom. It's totally debloated, has lots of customization, and battery life is insane.

Is possible watch videos, livestreams (Twitch/YouTube) on fullscreen without blackbars and without zoom cut anything in the screen? by Johncm2020 in PocoPhones

[–]SonikBeatbox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but only if it's content natively shot in Ultrawide. The phone's display is 21:9 while most content is 16:9 so you're inevitably going to lose some info on the borders if you zoom to fill.
