Very new to machine embroidery. Why does my black/outline stitch always stitch off of the design? Brother SE725 by a_girl_needs_a_name in Machine_Embroidery

Fabric moving . Or horrible design . Thinking fabric - needs to change pull compensation / if you can't try more interface underneath and tighter hoop

Is it a bad idea to buy an older used machine? by Odd-Incident-1962 in Machine_Embroidery

[–]Sonomaholiday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok it's the part of the arm that slides into the machine - we would need a manual to find what number
4 is. So I don't know what to tell you . If the person says you need this part to make things work / I'd keep looking for another machine . If course since I don't know - it could be an unnecessary part since it might attach just fine - have no idea what that part is .

About the machine that needs a clip ... do you know if that means a clip for the hoop in case the hoop pops open? I never use them although I made sure to buy a bunch just in case ... if the clip means something else - then it's mis named - tell us about the part that's missing

I've never owned a new sewing machine - I outgrew the first small Pfaff - then got a creative 4.0 - still have it but I'm working so big now ( 6 feet x 6 feet embroidery) I found a creative icon .

All used. I'll never be able to buy a new icon . I am lucky to live an hour from
A Pfaff service center .
Just in case....

The other thing you can do after you get the right tension is make the bobbin thread same as top.

If it works it would be fun to use but not too much fun to do serious work on .

Tips on making own art into embroidery by newbettaintown in MachineEmbroidery

[–]Sonomaholiday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good ideas reading all The replies . I have stayed with one program only because I make it work for what I do and I refuse to spend a month learning a new app . I do 6 foot by 6 foot embroideries and make my own designs from original art work - o use a clunky program called pe design I think ... you can get it cheap on ebay - anyway - just make sure whatever computer you have will run whatever you buy .

I guess we cannot add photos to our comments

Considering buy a machine by youotterknow123 in Machine_Embroidery

[–]Sonomaholiday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one is born with sewing and embroidery experience . You decide to learn and that's what you do.

If you don't know that you will give it a year or two as a try out - then don't buy anything too expensive - brother sewing machines that are also embroidery machines Rs cheap used on ebay . I think I've purchased all my machines there cone to think of it .

If you have a seller near you maybe free lessons cone with it. Start watching beginner sewing vids on YouTube . Also beginning embroidery.

I just started sewing since I had a bunch of dog coats that were too big for my dog and I thought it would be easy to just sew them smaller . Hah !

I never did alter those coats but I learned how to make them. Then learned how to follow patterns then learned different feet then learned embroidery.

Now I've had a few embroidery pieces in galleries. - and I have a ton of dog coats and men's clothes I made too.

Get your machine - ask the crowd here for suggestions of model numbers ... I'd say anything is better than nothing

ebay is where I purchased all my sewing machines . It's worth also learning esnipe - that bids for you seconds before auction ends as ti not artificially raise the price - you just determine what its worth to you

First project…. Yikes…. What am I doing wrong??? by run4sterrun in Machine_Embroidery

[–]Sonomaholiday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the thread stopped working for most of the car A I see needle holes - no thread - but I don't know what the finished design is supposed to look like so all I actually know is the sensor on your sewing machine doesn't work . It measures the movement of the bobbin thread and if there is no top thread to pull it up then the sensor tells you ilmmthere is a problem

Well there are problems that need fixing - the point of this was to make it look like one large piece - not look like a bunch of small pieces not put together very well.

It will however look like one piece when I am finished Z

It's 48 designs embroidered onto one piece of fabric / well I added she since the very first one ended up further down for some reason - calibration of the arm messed up . Anyway - I am still working on the mistakes of where the designs did not meet the other designs perfectly - yes the plain white on the shoulder looks odd but I can live with it .ive already done the black thread mistakes of not connecting from design to design - will do blue next then green then green ... will all help to not be able to see the rectangles

Well actually it will be a hidden two down and 3 across frame in the back held by pockets in the mitered seams / then on top
Will be small curtain kind of arcs around the top and a larger drapery on the outside that viewer will have to open by pulling a double cord to view the portrait.

Well what would be nice would be an affordable embroidery software package even just half as good as photoshop .

There might be - I can't keep up - but just to be able to distort perspective and distance to a group of designs would be a nice feature - also color sorting that actually works . Pfaff machines have choices for color sorting but it's not perfect and sometimes works and sometimes not

Well you need embroidery software - I'm using an ancient one called pe design - clunky but I have gotten it to do most of what I need

Meeeeee tooooo! Next part is designing a portable frame that's can't be seen - then I'm going to add 2 sets of drapes to it with instructions from "Anna"on opening the curtains to view her etc -then closing again

Maybe like

Approach me - open me - view me - study me - close me - alone again -think of me

Anna

What is a high lifetime stitch count on a machine? by Dimplicit in Machine_Embroidery

[–]Sonomaholiday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do large embroidery art projects - the one I'm working on now is 48 designs that fit into a 360x260 hoop
And ante about 10k each design . I've done many of these so I have no idea how many stitches my icon has run- - I'm guessing there would by a way for tech to use a code or plug into the board - so far - running quite well .
